I was treated unfairly by the head of security 'JESSE', he was condesending and harshly aggressive to me because i tried to check 2 bags into guest services so that i could go inside to play for 45 mins while I waited for a friend to pick ne up from Kelowna. I had pretty much had the worst day ever leading up to the incident and I have no idea why he treated me the way he did, maybe ge thought I was homeless or just didnt like the way i looked?! I really have no idea but i know that it was not warranted whatsoever. I was just inside the casino buying a smokie for my 17 year old daughter who was watching pur luggage out front with her 19 year old boyfriend an d both starving because we had been stranded on the side of the hwy ALL DAY in the hot sun after our car brokedown 40kms outside of kamloops. We had no other alternative but to hitch a ride to vernon since our cell phones were dead and our car was towed back to merritt where it had been worked on and was under warranty. We were trying to get home to kelowna because i had to cleaning jobs booked the next day that i had to get to. When we were dropped off in Vernon we walked to the only place open that may still sell food so i could get them something to eat. My daughter and her bfhad spoken to a friend that lives in Vernon to stay the night and visit with her. I had a friend driving from Kelowna that couldnt comeimmediatly and would take around 1 hour. I went in the the casino to the concession and got the last hotdog and smokie, a brownie and a dble gin and tonic for myself. I left my drink at guest services and took the food out to my daughter and her bf to eat before they were picked up. Their ride arrived and they left with their suitcases and i had my small rolling suitcase left. When i went back inside the door security again adked me for my ID and i asked if i could check my other bag ibto guest services also. He said that i woukd haveand then said he would have to wait for his supervisor to come authorise it. I waited patiently until this massive guy came up with his arms crossed tightly against his chest and he immediatly demands for me to open my suitcase and show him what is inside of it. . So i opened it and there was my makeup bag, 80 % folded clothing and approx 1/3rd bottle if gin. He said there is ABSOLUTELY NO OPEN LIQOUR ALLOWED IN THE CASINO SO I would need to leave immediatly! I was so confused, and embarrassed since he was almost yelling in the middle of the front entrance and making a scene because I asked to check ny bag at the front!? He was scary, and vulgar and rude for no reason! I am a regular at the Lakecity in Kelowna and they will be horrified when I explain what happened to them. Thet have always treated me kindly and with respect since I have been going there for the last 15+ years regularly! So 'JESSE' proceeded to kick me out of the casino and I had to yell over his bellowing voice to please return my shoulder bag from the guest services. He marched there grabbed it and pretty much shoved it in my face. I was so offended to be treated like that after purchasing food and drink that I didnt even get to drink! Nevermind the embarrassing scene he caused over nothing! I had the gin in my bag rather than in my daughters bag andbecause I wasnt going to throw it away 1/3 full. NEVER AT ANY POINT DID I CONSIDER TRYING TO TAKE IT IN WITH ME, I LITERALLY JUST WANTED TO SIT DOWN AND KILL SONE TIME ON THE SLOTS WHILE I WAITED TO FINALLY GET HOME SAFELY AFTER A SERIOUSLY HORRIBLE DAY, I will probably NEVER step foot in the VERNON CASINO again after being treated like a worthless loser!! Ive actually never been mistreated that way in my 41 years of life! Needless to say I sat outside waiting on the curb for my friend for the...
Read moreMy 84 year old father received a coupon for the restaurant so I drove him down to Vernon for some gaming and lunch. We went to the restaurant and showed the hostess the coupon who let us know to show to our waitress and took us to our table. My dad presented it as soon as she came to give us menus and were told that it would be taken once we got our bill. She then told us about the lunch special. I ordered the special and dad ordered off the menu. The coupon was order one and get one free. We waited for our lunch for a few minutes when the waitress came back and told us that the special did not count for the coupon but that he could use it next time. I let her know I did not live here and that my dad was on his own and the coupon expired at the end of the month. She said then I would have to pay full price for my meal and get his (lower price) for free. As this was being discussed another waitress brought our lunches. I told her she should have informed us of that and my father had not read the fine print but she knew we had a coupon. She would not budge. I asked to speak to the manager (my meal had been set aside). Same thing. Made me reorder and took my lunch away. My father ate his lunch while I was waiting for mine. I then ate and he went back into the casino. I was furious! They knew we had a coupon and said nothing! When I went to pay the bill, I said what a waste. I was then told that the waitress had bought my meal so no waste! So only people put out were the customers. Never eat there again. Worst thing ever happened to me in a restaurant and first time have ever done a review online. Disgusting way to treat people, especially an...
Read moreI attended the casino with my friend on his first night out since being restricted to a wheelchair. Before we even entered the building John promptly got stuck in the doorway, the super kind security guard named Jesse came to our aid immediately and helped John manoeuvre himself out if his Conundrum while making jokes and easing a situation that was humiliating to John. We ate supper at Match, it was the best Cesar salad I’ve ever had!! I’m new to playing black Jack and the workers at the table, Greg, Dawn and Keenan ( I hope I said their names correctly) were professional and so helpful. Drinks were reasonably priced and the waitresses were fast and friendly. When it was time to call it a night Jesse who was checking in on us all night and joking went above and beyond and helped me load John into the handivan. Thank you so very much for the successful evening which will be many more in the future because of the service we received… Thank you again and keep up the great work...
