Thank you for your reply however, the cookie cutter reply you sent me (exact same cut and paste as two others) did not address the cleanliness of the room, lack of amenities in a “fully stocked” kitchen, the unethical behaviour or more importantly the safety issues I addressed. I did not mention anything about children running up and down hall ways and supervision issues at all. Questioning my parenting when one of my children is over 16 with awards for citizenship and respect in our community is not called for. Please do the right thing and address the safety issues, cleanliness and lack of amenities.
As for your comments about sleep etc the alleged noise was between 430 and 630 pm. Please read my statement before replying this time. Compensation is more than warranted here.
There are a lot of issues here. Booked in as two adults and two children for almost 1 week stay.
Had a kitchen suite with oven dishwasher and fridge However, no cooking pots or pans 2 dinner plates 1 saucer 1 bowl 2 forks 1 spoon No knives 1 bread knife 1serving spoon No spatula No can/bottle opener 2 dish cloths No tea towels No oven mitts No toaster No kettle
Had to ask and received 4 large platters 1 bowl
I went and bought everything else we needed Washing liquid was in a coke bottle complete with coke label not cleaning fluid. Dangerous for children Suite room door locks but cannot be unlocked without great force. Teens and husband could not exit the room once locked Safety hazard in the case of emergency. I told front desk Room key cards did not work for more than one or two uses Nose bodily substance attached to couch Cleaning policy non existent. Never told that we had to schedule a cleaning a day in advance. When asked for still did not happen My husband took out all the garbage twice and asked for bags We had to ask for toilet paper I had to ask for light bulbs as bedroom lamps did not work. I installed them myself. Tall lamp in bedroom has broken bulb in it and I could not replace.
Furthermore, part of our group were unfortunately mistreated by your staff (Debbie) and asked to leave the hotel after 1 unwarranted noise complaint from below. No warning was given just a phone call as we were all dashing out to competition right away. The front desk associate called the room and told the occupant that there was a noise complaint and they would have to leave the hotel immediately. No warnings or further explanation. This was wrong 100%. The occupants and ourselves as well as the 15 or more other families booked there were in and out at competition with no real time for noise in the rooms.
After this incident, unfortunately 2 members of your front desk staff were rude to me and my family making faces and mumbling every time we passed the front desk.
I am disgusted as I could ignore them and their terrible behaviour, but my children were witness to this and many teachable moments came from this for my family of taking the high road when others can’t.
The entire time we were there was not enjoyable and everything was picked on by your staff going forward after our friends incident occurred. I will state no vulgarity was used on our part and only calm and collected conversation However, Debbie and her colleague talked over me when I spoke and continued to roll her eyes and disrespect me and the other couple in question. Furthermore she called the other 3 hotels she “manages” and told them to not allow this family to stay there either. This caused a lot of undue stress for everyone including children of 3 families who were meant to compete
We will not be staying at this location ever again after this experience and all 15 families have many more years of competition to attend in Vernon.
Personally, I am not sure if I can stay at another BW property for fear of...

I booked an 8-night stay months in advance, expecting a comfortable experience. Instead, I was placed on the highway side of the hotel, right on a floor undergoing construction. The noise and smell were persistent, and the entire experience felt unwelcoming from day one.
Parking is a nightmare. After 8 PM, good luck finding a spot. The lot itself is dirty and clearly neglected.
Cleanliness and Maintenance were a complete letdown. The third floor smelled awful every day—staff blamed it on old wallpaper being removed, but that doesn’t explain why it wasn’t cleaned or aired out. The hallways were never vacuumed once during my entire stay. I took photos of the elevator door—same handprints from day one to day eight. Dust, grime, and filth were everywhere—under bedside tables, in window tracks, even in the bathroom plug. I’ve attached photos showing just how bad it was.
Housekeeping was nearly nonexistent. After three days, I had to ask when my room would be cleaned. I was told I wasn’t on the list, and the cleaning staff responded with a rude, “we’ll see.” I escalated to the front desk, who said it would be taken care of—but when I returned, only stained towels were delivered (some with makeup still on them) and the room had not been cleaned at all. The dirty towel picture is what I wiped the bathroom floor with after my room had been supposedly cleaned!!! I brought the new towels down to the front desk myself and asked if they’d use them. Their answer was no. Eventually, a younger staff member cleaned the room properly the next day after I demanded someone else be assigned.
Amenities? There were none. No place to sit outside—not one chair or bench. Flowers were dead or dying, and there was zero effort put into upkeep or hospitality. The tub plug was disgusting and unusable. The TV remote didn’t work—took multiple calls and over three hours to get it replaced.
Customer service was indifferent at best. No greeting, no smiles—just blank stares from the front desk. A simple “Hi, how are you?” would go a long way, but apparently, that’s asking too much. Seems like nobody was really ever at the front desk. Instead hanging out in the office as customers wait.
Worst of all, the lack of care is consistent. Cookie-cutter responses to negative reviews show there’s no real concern or desire to improve. Best Western should honestly be embarrassed to have their name on this property.
Overall, this hotel does not reflect the standards I’ve come to expect from the brand. Dirty, disorganized, and apathetic from top to bottom. I won’t be returning, and I would not recommend this place to anyone.
I requested my receipt be emailed when I checked out, they still haven’t emailed it. I’m not surprised though.

Read moreOur family of 3 stayed at this hotel for 1 night in Room 310, and it was the worst experience we ever had in a hotel. To begin with, the elevator had a weird smell each time we rode in it. When we got to our floor, we were quite surprised to see that the hallway was in the midst of a renovation. It was a mess! Our room, which was like an apartment suite, was very dirty!! The floors were clearly not clean as shoe prints were visible everywhere. The walls had stains on them, the top of the fridge had a thick film of dust on it and the inside of the fridge was dirty too. The tray that held the face towels in the bathroom was dirty and had hair on it. Given the state of the room, we wanted to use our own towels from home instead of the hotel towels. Thankfully, we brought them with us! We wanted to hang our towels on the hooks on the back of the bathroom door. When we wiped the door with our own wipes, the wipes were disgustingly black! We had to use at least 5 wipes to ensure the back of the door was throughly cleaned to our standards. The bathroom tiles were moldy and stained, too. The side of the bath tub had some sort of pinkish jelly like substance on it. The table in the living room was also dirty. It had a sticky hand print on it, and other stains were visible. Worst of all, the beddings were all dirty or stained. When we asked for new sheets and pillowcases, they were in worst condition. The sheets had either urine, blood or unidentifiable stains on all of them. The sheets had at least 4 or 5 hair strands on them, too. The phone in the room was out of order - it had no dial tone and (had the incorrect hotel room number on it) so we couldn't call the front desk from our room. We had to go down to reception in person to voice our concerns. The next day, my husband spoke with the manager to report our concerns in detail. She apologized to us, and respectfully refunded our Best Western points including the small amount we paid for our one night stay. Given it was a very stressful experience for our family, and that we spent quite some time cleaning, we did not take any photos. As Best Western members, we are clearly disappointed and disgusted with the lack of care regarding cleanliness with this property, and not upholding the Best Western standards we expect from this brand. We strongly do not recommend staying at this...
