Chantal has been my 'go-to' massage therapist for over 20 years, long before she became associated with BIM. She is, and always has been, fantastic. Here are some of the reasons: Her diagnostic skills are razor sharp. She can feel knots I don't know I have; She is tenacious - often going a little bit overtime to fix problem areas; Sessions with Chantal are a comfortable mix of good conversation and quiet relaxation. She has a good sense of when to make the transition; She is very knowledgable about how muscles work and what can be done to make them work better, or without cramping (magnesium bisglycinate); She pays attention to the details in all aspects of the appointment. The massage bed is always properly made and pre-heated to my desired temperature. Her peppermint lifesaver dish is (almost) always full, and the playlists of background music are super relaxing (I have fallen asleep multiple times). She always has some post-massage advice (i.e., drink lots of water, put some heat on that, put some ice on that, etc.) She is a good BIM team player by recommending her colleagues for alternative therapies. For me, she has made a couple of referrals to other professionals at BIM (Dr. Jing Liu - acupuncture and cupping therapy, and Katherin Sandfuchs, for athletic therapy). I find the entire experience of attending a session at BIM to be relaxing and therapeutic, regardless of the...
Read moreI experienced a sudden lower back crisis just before embarking on a bucket list trip, and I was eager to recover in time. Fortunately, I found Nic, and he was amazing. He saw me three times in quick succession and thoroughly explained both the movements that would aid my healing and those that could exacerbate my condition. He even followed up with an email.
Nic knew exactly how to provide immediate relief and offered valuable education and guidance for long-term support. Since returning from my trip, I have continued to see him and benefit from his in-depth knowledge and passion for promoting wellness and mobility for long-term success. He is a skilled physiotherapist with a well-rounded understanding of various therapeutic modalities that contribute to...
Read moreI would highly recommend Valerie for massage therapy; she is fantastic!! She has gone above and beyond to help me find relief from the chronic pain I have suffered from for over 20 years. Out of all the massages I've tried she has put in the most effort to tailor the massage to meet my specific needs. If one technique isn't working she will continue to try others, and offer ideas to figure out what will help me. She has also given of her own time to send me exercises that I can work on to help in my rehabilitation. Valerie always puts in the effort, and her lighthearted nature always puts me at ease. I know during the massage I can count on not only muscle relaxation, but also a laugh as we find humour in the "day to day". Thank-you Valerie,...
