Never been to this theatre before. Decided to sit up front row, as I have in other theatres. I cannot fathom how the company, the interior designers thought this was okay; or how customers can ever cope with sitting front row more then one dreadful time. Maybe I'm an idiot for underestimating how close to the screen I was going to be. But wow, what a distorted, and deeply uncomfortable viewing angle and experience. Truly a bizarre experience to see such a warped angle, I could see all the motion blur, pixels, and low resolution so clearly. It was physically straining to pay attention to the edges of the screen that were on my peripheral vision. Seriously, who on earth, with functioning optical nerves, can sit in these seats and come out saying "wow, that was such a great viewing experience, can't wait to go back to Landmark Cinemas 8 Grant park and sit front row again!" And I sat in the MIDDLE FRONT row. I'm imaging the poor dad who was sitting in the front corner, it must have been like watching a movie through warped filter while on a low dose of mushrooms. Sound quality and audio balance is also kinda bad. 2 stars for comfy chairs and reclining feature.

Pretty much never going to any other theatre ever again. We went for the 1st time over the weekend and WOW. Those premiere reclining seats are 100% worth the extra few dollars. They were extremely comfortable and roomy as ever. We reclined ours back all the way and there was still room for people to walk through the aisles. As someone who is always cold, I really appreciated the fact that there is a heat option on them (and a cold option for people who like to be cold). The extra table room to store belongings was also a really nice touch, and the privacy dividers made us feel like we were the only ones there. I will take the larger, more comfy seats with less people in the theatre over a cramped and packed theatre any day. The concessions were also great, I really loved the drink options, and being able to refill for free, made it worth the price, and everyone working there seemed friendly and helpful. No complaints whatsoever! We will definitely be going back next time we want to see another movie.

The new seats are pretty awesome. I'm used to these as my"other home" is in the USA and this is pretty standard. I'm glad to see Winnipeg catching up! The theaters though seem much smaller here than what I'm used to, but most of the seats seemed good. I'd sit anywhere but the front. I did find it it were in the first 3 rows at least of theater 1, you will need to turn your head to look around a bit. Reading subtitles is a bit more problematic close up. Popcorn was good. Staff was friendly. There is also certain viewings that are going sensory sensitive people. I think that's fantastic. Upgraded to 5 stars. For Winnipeg I think it's my favorite theater now. Bonus, if you ask for water you can get still or sparkling!

By far the most comfortable seating in the movie theater game! Landmark Cinemas 8 Grant Park excels where most Cineplex cinemas fall short.

They offer superior beverage choices, thanks to the Coca-Cola Freestyle machines they use. (which is only offered at the Junxion location for Cineplex theaters.) The use of the freestyle machines, ensures that there are loads of sugar free beverage options for those who need or prefer them.

Their snack options are fairly similar, however, the popcorn is where you will notice a distinct difference. Cineplex popcorn is often pre-bagged and kept under a warming light, resulting in dry, stale popcorn. At Landmark on the other hand, they bag the popcorn to order, ensuring a much fresher popcorn munching experience.

Finally, the seating. While Cineplex has started to renovate their seating with reclining options, it still pales in comparison to the seating offered at Landmark. With the seats in the fully laid back position, you could very well sleep in the seats, that's how comfortable they are. Meanwhile, at Cineplex, the reclining seats only offer a leg rest, with very little actual reclining. But where the seats differ most, is on date night. The loveseat style seats offered at Landmark, offer an armrest that can be lifted up, out of the way, making it perfect for movie time cuddles with your special someone. This is a feature that isn't available anywhere else in Winnipeg.

Lastly, the one and only reason this lovely theater doesn't get a full five star rating. The screens. I've watched many (many) movies in most of the screening rooms available at this location, and most have a common issue. Many of the screens have small tears, or some other kind of imperfection in them, which can, at times, distract you from the movie you're watching. In an otherwise perfect movie watching experience, this can quickly pull you out of the experience.

In conclusion, if you haven't already been here to watch a movie, what are you...

Think I'm done with cinemas, which hurts being cinephile. I just can't anymore with the quality of everything really: sound, video, services, cleanliness.

Landmark was my favorite place, with other current ones falling flat. Now they to have sucum.

Saw Wicked, an amazing movie, which was butchered by seeing it in a cinema. I would have walked out if I was not with a group. The cinema wasted seeing a work of art, in such a badly presented state.

Having such a beautiful movie being played in stereo, with off tone speakers, volume far to low. My whole group was trying to get the staff to do something about the audio. We paid $20!!! after all. Yet nothing done. It's a musical and it just hurt to hear it in such a state.

Gamma and brightness ruined the amazing colors this movie had. Just so insulting to the movie and the effort that went into it.

With sound and bad display, why am i paying $20?

The comfy seats? There was a landfill of garbage under each of them. Not from 1 day. It was full and smelt.

I keep trying to be there for cinemas, yet I'm done. I'm so sad going to the cinemas now ruins the movie watching experience.

Landmark, please focus on your quality standard. It has dropped. 4th time in a row, I gave more tries then I should have.

Please please step it up. Can't pay you $20 for that. It...
