As a foreigner living in China, I’ve faced several culture shocks in recent weeks, but nothing prepared me for what I experienced today at the Apple Store Sanlitun, Beijing. I visited the store excited to try the new Apple Vision Pro with my young son, expecting the same high standards and welcoming atmosphere Apple is known for worldwide. Unfortunately, I was met with shocking behavior by one of the store’s staff members a man whose conduct was nothing short of disgraceful for a brand like Apple. Without any polite approach or explanation, this staff member rudely shouted at me in Chinese, aggressively telling me not to touch the device. His unprofessional, vulgar demeanor was completely out of place for an international brand. To make matters worse, he spoke not a single word of English in a flagship store located in a major capital city that attracts millions of foreign visitors. I calmly responded that the real fault lies not with him, but with the management that hired someone clearly unfit to represent Apple’s values someone with neither the appearance, communication skills, nor professionalism expected in such a setting. I chose to remain calm for the sake of my child, but the experience left me deeply disappointed. I have decided to never visit any Apple Store in China again. From now on, I will only purchase Apple products online, where at least I can avoid being treated with such rudeness and disrespect. Apple is an American brand admired globally for its innovation and exceptional customer service. What I witnessed today was the exact opposite. I sincerely hope this feedback reaches the appropriate teams, and that Apple takes urgent steps to train its staff properly and ensure they reflect the global values the company stands for. Thank you for this terrible...
Read moreBAD shopping experience EVER. The sales associate was rude and impatient. About three months ago, I took my parents to the store to buy a phone. When I asked a male sales associate where the model I wanted was located, he gave a vague response and looked very impatient. When I couldn’t find the phone and asked him again, he yelled at me in front of everyone in the store, saying, "I already told you where it is, didn’t you see it?" Throughout the entire shopping experience, I was consistently polite and respectful, using phrases like "please," "may I know," and "thank you." I don't understand why this sales associate acted this way, but he gave both me and my parents a very unpleasant experience, especially my parents—they were quite frightened. Later, I asked someone for the sales associate's name and found out it was Dylan. I reported this incident to the manager at the time, but the sales associate named Dylan did not offer any apology. No one has contacted me since. I am very DISAPPOINTED with Apple’s service, especially the disrespectful attitude of the staff towards women and the elderly. This was the first time my 70's parents walked into an Apple store, and it should have been a wonderful day, but that sales associate...
Read moreExpected something more iconic for the first official Apple flagship store in China. There were folks hawking the iPhone 7 right outside. Five years back, four people were reportedly got beaten with a metal club by an Apple employee after the front door of the store was smashed by angry customers out to buy the white iPhone...
