Hotel is old that’s for sure. Though location is one of the best, sitting near the shopping belt of Wangfujing. and room size is very comfortable. However I hope my review will prompt the management to look into upgrading of the hotel.
Now the good parts: water pressure is good. No flickering lights. Breakfast is ok.
Overall I enjoyed Beijing, great city, full of culture and history. But whether I will be back to this hotel? I need to consider really very hard...
Read moreThe location of the hotel is definitely a plus — it's close to a metro station, which makes exploring the city much easier. Some of the staff also speak a little bit of English, which can help with basic communication.
Unfortunately, that’s about where the positives end.
At check-in, I was given zero information. No explanation about where breakfast was served, no overview of hotel facilities — nothing. Someone simply walked me to the correct elevator, and after that, I was left to figure things out on my own.
The bed was a major downside for me. It felt rock hard, like sleeping on the floor — far from comfortable. The toilet also didn’t function properly and would occasionally fail to flush.
As for the service: some reception staff are helpful. When I had trouble ordering a taxi through the Didi app, one of them helped by ordering one for me. But that was more the exception than the rule. On another occasion, when I needed a ride to the airport and ran into the same issue, they briefly looked at it and then left me to deal with it myself.
Housekeeping staff are generally friendly, but even here things weren’t quite right. Even with the “Not Now” sign on the door (which I assume means “do not disturb”), they still entered the room. That makes you wonder what the point of the sign is.
All in all, I wouldn’t recommend staying here if you’re looking for comfort and good service. There are undoubtedly better options in the same price...
Read moreGood location. 5mins walk to nearest train station [Jinyu Hutong, exit B]. You can get to anywhere once you know your access through the station. What's more that we can use Visa/Master to tap in/out, don't need to download any app.
5mins walk to WangFuJing shopping street. You may also walk to the Forbidden City. About 20-30mins stroll. Depending how fast you walk.
Hotel location is surrounded by other big brands, hence, if those big brands located at the same street, Novotel Peace Beijing is at the right place. Next door is WDorf, opposite is Penin..., the left side is The Reg_nt..., down the street is Hilt__ Location is fine.
I agree with many reviews here, hotel is tired, water pressure is slow, AC not as great either (you won't need it during Winter). If you can put up with all these then you will be fine as most of the time you won't be in the room anyway. Just book the better rooms for comfort, same block with front desk.
Access to Premium Lounge with great view of the city. Selection is fair with the price charged; the wanton soup is a must go in the morning :). You get what you paid for.
Generally, it is a good hotel, staff are...
