As an Indian traveler, stepping into Wangfujing Bookstore in Beijing felt like entering an intellectual paradise that I’ve longed for in India. Unlike Indian stores or even Amazon India, where sourcing authentic HSK preparation books, BCT vocabulary, and Chinese business strategy books can be a hit or miss—this bookstore had everything in one place!

The language learning section was stocked with graded readers, mock tests, vocabulary flashcards, and practical phrasebooks for every HSK level, including the rare ones I couldn’t find online. I was surprised to even find business-specific Mandarin books tailored for foreigners, a huge plus for someone preparing for the BCT(A) and planning to teach language and entrepreneurship together.

The business section upstairs offered insight into China’s startup ecosystem, branding culture, and leadership styles—titles that are not available on Amazon India or Indian bookshops. I love to read so I was happy to see this just around the corner from our hotel. I give them 5 stars because the staff was amazing. Even though my husband and myself don't speak mandarin, our children do and the staff was thrilled to talk with them.
