Stand in the middle & watch boats full of timber pass slowly beneath while bangbang men & women stroll by with their improbable loads. A section of the old city wall lies under the bridge at its western end. As you head east & look just north (the bridge isn't actually neatly west to east, more WNW to ESE) you can see the surviving buildings of one of CQ's old quarters: if you want to explore it, you'll have to look for an alley or some winding steps to get you in, just before you get to the entrance to Shanxinlu...
