Avoid at all costs if you come by motorcycle! yes they have plenty of parking spots but the nightmare starts when you are trying to get free parking for spending. Went to Airside to go shopping after seeing we could get 2 more hours of free parking we decided to also watch a movie. Tried to get parking redemption before going to the cinema on the 3rd floor - they told us we had to do it on the 2nd floor as their system didnt accept the octopus. so we went to the 2nd floor after the movie ended at 9.10pm. First staff coulndt help us said their system does not work. 2nd staff same thing. Finally the 3rd staff had the same issue so he decided to call someone. Apparently this problem had happend before - as we were a motorcycle there is no license plate at the front so the camer didnt capture it - seems even having our octopus on hand whichg we used to enter was not sufficient. 30 min of waiting around and the staff finally told us we could go down to leave. When we got to the bike he called us to let us know we just had to press the help button when exiting the gate and they would help us - apparently they would know what to do. Off we went and pressed the button - but seems we were disconnected shortly after?? Even pressing the button again did nothing but the sign said: please wait for staff to come and help. so the first staff arrived and asked whats wrong - we explained everything. she talked to someone on the walkie talkie for 10 min and still nothing. the second staff comes and tells us we have to press the octopus to pay - even telling him we only have to pay one hour and we are trying to sort it with the other staff he went ahead and pressed our octopus. HKD 168 later we told him that this was wrong. so we drove to the side and further discussions. Finally 1 hour after we had tried to get the parking redemption we left with only a promise the money would be refunded. Will we get our money back: doubtful! Will we go back to Airhose: Absolutely not. Am I petty for writing this review: 100%. If 10 staff are unable to help for one hour and you walk away having paid HKD 168 I would say this is a systemic failure of the system. Dont have parking spots for motorcycles if you are unable to...
Read moreAs an observant consumer, I've noticed several areas which need improvement that could make AIRSIDE an even better shopping centre.
Firstly, the best times to go to AIRSIDE are during weekdays, as that is when students go to school and other people go to work. That way, AIRSIDE won't be as crowded and you might get to browse around stores a little bit easier.
Thirdly, the fact that AIRSIDE permits people to bring their pets (cats and dogs) into the shopping centre heavily affects my shopping experience as I won't be expecting to see dogs or cats inside of the shopping centre as well. I don't appreciate it when cats and dogs start meowing and barking constantly, as it is pretty annoying and insufferable to some people (especially me).
In addition to what I've already said, I must add that locating bathrooms inside of AIRSIDE is quite difficult. I've struggled to find bathrooms on several floors when shopping, and it really has become a huge inconvenience for me.
It's worth considering these points:
For AIRSIDE to start prohibiting access to the shopping centre for pets. As pets are loud and very annoying and pets disrupt the overall atmosphere inside of a mall. Also, pets shouldn't even be allowed in shopping centres in the first place.
Start prohibiting access to AIRSIDE for people who bring pets eg. cats and dogs. I will repeat myself, I do not appreciate it when I hear dogs barking or cats meowing constantly when I am trying to enjoy my shopping experience at AIRSIDE.
People who decide to bring their pets to AIRSIDE should have to pay a minimum fine of HKD 500 - HKD 800, for the inconvenience that they cause to other mall-goers. This should be a disciplinary implementation at all shopping malls, not just AIRSIDE but every single mall scattered across Hong Kong and Kowloon, to make everyone's shopping experience as pleasant as possible.
Finally, I want to say that I will be giving AIRSIDE four out of five stars. The reason why I will not be giving AIRSIDE a five out of five star rating is because of their permission to mall-goers to bring their pets whenever they want and I...
