Aldrich Bay Promenade — Attraction in Hong Kong

Aldrich Bay Promenade This promenade by the sea is 500 M long. Along this, many local residents come here for leisure morning walk . It stretches from Grand Promenade (Private Residences ) to the junction of Shau Kei Wan Main Street East and Oi Lai Road. Shau kei wan Main Street East used to be the Main street circling along the then Aldrich Bay Typhoon Shelter about 60 years ago. This street was the shopping and residential quarters for fishermen and their trade wares. The shelter was like a half circle in a pocket shape. This shelter (the pocket shape) is now reclaimed from the ocean with landfills and straightened out on the side facing the sea , into the current Promenade. From the Promenade ,a stretch of sea with shelter Quay makes a new Ships’ shelter. The moorings are more of yachts instead of fishing boats, unlike the old days. The view facing the sea, i.e. the North is a great sceneries of Kowloon Peninsula including the mountains peaks ; Fei Ngor Shan, Lion Rock. A cozy place with beautiful surroundings, many shelter with chairs, it is surrounded by high rise buildings most of them are residential flat that gives beauty and attraction to the place as well as a relaxing place to stay on your holiday. The promenade can also used by people in doing their daily exercise. The promenade is covered by 2 places namely: Sai Wan Ho and Shau Kei Wan..in the bay you can see private yachts, fisherman boats, the buildings across the harbor, and some public transportation ferry to brings you to other island..i enjoyed my stay here and one day i will try this ferry to visit this island that is nearer to the promenade and to see it's hidden...
