probably all hongkong citizen and chinese tourist aware and visited this before! very nice flea market, plenty of electronic and phone shops along the street, actually i think it is at least on par with bangkok's platinum in the old days, and maybe IT Square if you also count the numerous small shops along the street and around the neighbourhood. you should try bargain price here, most give you some discount, anyway i find most street hawkers are quite honest, as i once come across the hawker recommend a cheaper item to customer asking for opinion and he explained the pros and cons of two different priced items, one much more costly. it is also good to get mobile phone cover or protective plastic wrap cover here, some stalls have many models of different sizes, including the popular and somehow obsolete models generation apart. and if you don't mind and want to buy cheaper than market price mobile phones, there are stores doing trading for new and old models, and those of parallel trade models. As far as i know, parallel trade means they take advantage of same models selling in diffferent countries and source from cheaper countries, so they can sell same models at cheaper price than those on market in hong kong or other higher price countries. hongkong allows parallel trade. finally i recommend you to visit the newly renovated apliu toilet! probably most lovely and most clean amongst hongkong's public toilet which is quite rare...

Apliu Street Flea Market It is in Shamshuipo. Better to take MTR Tsuen Wan line because exiting at Shamshuipo Station at A2 or C2 will land you directly on to the Street. The Street is East and West for about 350 M. It is a flea market ,with many sheltered booths alongside the curb of the pedestrian pavements on both sides of the street blocking many proper stores behind them. It is a unique situation of “double parking” of one row of booths in front of others stores in concrete built buildings. Buildings mostly are prewar times. This places is suitable for tourist as well as locals as it supplies all kinds of electronic gadgets , including rare items not available in ordinary stores. The prices are reasonable. Certain local food shops , snake soup and Chinese pot foods etc , are dotted among the stores. The history of this specialist street goes way back to the 1960s. Further away to the North-East across 2-3 streets is the famous Golden Computer Arcade , supplying all kinds of things related to computer . Nearby streets such as Fuk Wah street and Fuk Wing streets have shops for toys , clothing items and also many local traditional Chinese delicacies . It is a place for all family for half a day’s interesting and fun visit. It also provides a glimpse of how traditional local people live and work. written on...

It's a really busy frantic area of Hong Kong and not for people who like crowds. However it is a great place to pick up a bargain or so and the odd "antique". One little tip. If you see an antique in one store and see similar ones in other stores then chances are they all go to the same wholesaler. If you don't sound or look local then be ready to talk price. They will move on price but most of all if you want the piece don't be stubborn and be realistic. Apart from 2nd hand stuff, you'll find plenty of electrical stuff from torches to LED lighting to mini spy cams and car cams. The place has changed over the years and has become a more acceptable market place. In the pass pirate DVDs, pornography and sex toys were quite common and there was more of the new and unusual items, making the place a much more exciting place to explore but like a person, as the years pass you mature and become...

Apliu Street Flea Market used to be a flea market for thrown away household goods. After WWII and also the Vietnam war it functioned as a scrapyard for military electronics and it had been a scrapyard for household electronics and a market place for surplus and new electrical and electronics components. If you know what you want to get it is a fun place to browse around. These days the good buys are phone accessories, lighting supplies, electrical and hand tools. For example, a 50G 4G LTE phone card good for a year in HK could be had for less than HK$200. You can also find tools for almost any project in the 30 or so hardware stores
