Promoting Halal-Friendly Hong Kong

Inviting Cathay Pacific Business Lounge to Offer Halal Food

As a resident of a city with a significant Muslim population and a popular tourist destination for millions of Muslim visitors, I recommend Cathay Pacific Business Lounge to take a big step towards inclusivity by incorporating Halal food options into their menu. This invitation not only has the potential to attract a tremendous amount of business but also aligns with the principles of promoting Muslim tourism and tapping into the billion-dollar Halal industry.

Cathay Pacific Business Lounge operates in a bustling industry where the food scene is known for its diversity and vibrancy. By providing Halal options on their menu, the lounge can tap into a market that comprises more than 500,000 Muslims residing in the city, as well as the millions of Muslim tourists who visit each year. This move would undoubtedly attract a substantial amount of business and contribute to the lounge's revenue growth.

Moreover, promoting Halal options at Cathay Pacific Business Lounge sends a powerful message of inclusivity. It demonstrates a genuine commitment to catering to the needs of locals and tourists from various cultural and religious backgrounds. By embracing the diverse dietary preferences of its customers, Cathay Pacific Business Lounge can position itself as a welcoming and inclusive establishment.

Regarding the economic impact, the invitation to provide Halal food options is a strategic move. The Halal industry is estimated to be worth billions of dollars globally, and by tapping into this market, Cathay Pacific Business Lounge can significantly increase its revenue. The growing Muslim tourism sector presents a vast opportunity, and by catering to this market segment, the lounge can attract a loyal customer base and establish itself as a go-to destination for Halal dining.

In conclusion, I strongly recommend Cathay Pacific Business Lounge consider the invitation to incorporate Halal food options into their menu. By embracing inclusivity, promoting Muslim tourism, and tapping into the billion-dollar Halal industry, the lounge can attract a substantial amount of business and increase its revenue. This step towards inclusivity not only aligns with the diverse demographics of the city but also positions Cathay Pacific Business Lounge to be a welcoming and inclusive establishment for all customers, regardless of their dietary...

I am utterly disappointed with Cathay Pacific's handling of my Asia Miles account. Despite being a loyal business class flyer who spends up to $60,000 annually on flights, Cathay Pacific has failed miserably in customer service and transparency.

I previously held 253,000 Asia Miles, only to discover they had expired without proper notification. According to their own terms and conditions, members should be notified via email about the expiry of their miles. However, Cathay Pacific conveniently classifies these critical expiration reminders as "marketing communications." As a result, I did not receive any warning about my miles expiring, despite having a valid email address on file.

Their customer service response was appalling. They admitted that I hadn't received any expiration notifications because I had opted out of marketing emails. This is an unacceptable excuse and a clear violation of their terms and Hong Kong's consumer protection laws. It's shocking that a major airline like Cathay Pacific would hide behind such flimsy justifications instead of owning up to their mistakes and taking care of their loyal customers.

The lack of transparency and good faith in their dealings is disgraceful. They seem more interested in finding loopholes to deny service rather than ensuring customer satisfaction. Given my significant financial contribution to the airline industry and the loyalty I have shown over the years, this experience has left a very bitter taste in my mouth.

If you are considering flying with Cathay Pacific and hoping for reliable service and fair treatment, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. This airline does not value its customers and is more than willing to let their loyalty go to waste over technicalities and poor communication practices.

Save yourself the frustration and choose an airline that truly values and respects its passengers. Cathay Pacific has proven to be...

This is probably the best Cathay Pacific lounge I have been to. Its located quite far at Gate 65 it feels like it is in another terminal because you have to take the train to get to this part of the airport. It might be inconvenient to access if your gate number falls in the smaller numbers. Don't recommend to visit unless you have a lot of time before catching the flight. I arrived at the airport early so when I checked in I didn't even know the gate for my flight, and yet I decided to take a risk by visiting this lounge and luckily my departure gate just happened to be a minute walk away. This lounge is way bigger and longer. The moment when I entered, I could see like the walkway is endless. The lounge is pretty long and is segregated by sections where each section you get different things. Like the 1st section is the Western food, followed by the Asian food, then the bar, then the desserts and so on. It was very spacious and I suppose usually before sunset there are not so many transit flights and so the lounges are more empty. You can just wander in any section and grab some food and sit in the section and hop to the next once done. I was impressed by the selection of food, and the variety was a lot that I was concentrating myself mostly on the Asian section and ignoring the rest. The food was good and I am surprised I could find char siew here! Had 2 rounds of Asian cuisine and had a rest and 3 hours flew by so quicky. Easily the best lounge in Hong Kong airport. Thumbs up.

My first after Covid. The Pier is huge, like several big restaurants. The biggest change from before is the improved grouping of seating areas, the wonderful light created with huge glass windows bringing the outside in softened by lots of plants to offset the airport industrial feel and lots of rattan and wood treatments. First the Food hall - with 2 drink stations, a full delicatessen array of food. Salads, cold cuts, cheeses, pizzas, soups, pasta, a couple of meat stews, breads veering towards Italian food. And lots of bakery options including cookies. Then the Bar, a fully stocked full service bar. Then the Noodle Bar, not to be missed. Best of Hongkong’s roasts. Superb barbecue pork rice, CRISPY PORK rice (super yum, better than what we had at a famous Cantonese restaurant last night). Several noodle options with or without soup, cooked to order and also a side buffet with Chinese cuisine : vegetable, soup, meat dish, noodles, steamed meat buns. Then the Teahouse - a quiet place to chill and enjoy a huge selection of loose leaf teas from around the world. I can only guess at what is beyond the teahouse. Looked like a library or people who need to catch up with work. I was too busy looking at all the eating options😋 Cx has 2 other business class lounges The Wing near Gate 2 and The Deck near Gate 6. I would The wing would have most of what The Pier has but The Deck would be a pared down choice
