I agree with the other review below - Beware if you’re trying to access the lounge using a partner credit card. I have access via multiple American Express cards But they were adamant that I needed a physical Priority Pass in order to get in. It’s 2024 and no one carries physical cards so I asked if the app would be sufficient. Agent was clearly very poorly trained and said yes the app would work, but I would first have to connect my credit card to the app. The app gave me a lot of issues and I wasn’t able to connect the card due to a technical issue with the drop-down menu on the website. I tried via phone and iPad, and it was definitely an issue with the Priority Pass website. The agent indicated that I could use the lounge in the meantime while I figured it out, because the Amex I had clearly was valid and gave me access. The agent even attempted to try to call PP to update the details in the backend, but the PP agent also had technical difficulties and said I had to have Amex send me a new PP account number to sync it.
I updated the lounge receptionist that I would have to call Amex to figure it out, and that’s when a manager type woman named KIMMEY waltzed over and demanded that I check in and pay for my access immediately. She was extremely rude to both myself and her staff, and never tried to understand the situation or that I was instructed by PP to contact Amex to update the details immediately. She repeated said that it was not her problem Amex and PP could not link the app to my credit card (well it is, since it’s PP’s technical bug) and tried to get me to “check in” and pay despite the fact that I had TWO cards that I own that give me access. Faced with her unnecessary hostility, I ended up leaving before figuring out the situation with Amex because I was so uncomfortable that Kimmey was making such a scene.
PP - Train your staff. If your staff can’t treat customers with respect, then they need to be in the back office and not at front desk. Kimmey’s attitude was extremely unprofessional and she is an embarrassing ambassador...
Read moreKyra Lounge at Hong Kong Airport (near Gate 23, Terminal 1) is hands down one of the best airport lounges we’ve been to — we absolutely love it!
The space is beautifully designed, with high ceilings, calming natural tones, and plenty of sunlight from the floor-to-ceiling windows. There’s even a cozy fireplace area that makes it feel more like a boutique hotel lounge than an airport.
The food selection is great, with a mix of local Hong Kong favourites like curry fishballs, siu mai, and cheong fun, plus some Western comfort food like couscous salad and mac & cheese. Everything we tried was fresh and well-prepared.
One of the best parts? The bar. They have a full range of premium alcohol, plus some really creative cocktails (the Fragrant Harbour was our favourite — gin, lychee, elderflower, and yoghurt!). There are also thoughtful mocktails like the Kowloon Sunrise with ginger and citrus, which was super refreshing.
We also appreciated how spacious and quiet it felt, even when it was relatively full. It’s the perfect place to unwind before a flight — stylish, comfortable, and with great food and drinks.
If you have access through Priority Pass or LoungeKey, make sure you don’t miss this one. Kyra is a game-changer for...
Read moreI had a 12-hour layover at Hong Kong Airport (HKG), and I’m truly grateful to the Kyra Lounge for making the long wait far less stressful. This is, without a doubt, the best lounge accessible with a Priority Pass at this airport.
Since I had ample time, I explored a couple of other lounges—namely the Plaza Premium Lounge and the Chase Sapphire Lounge by The Club. Hands down, Kyra outshined them all. From its serene ambiance and panoramic views to the fresh food, cleanliness, and minimal crowd, Kyra stood out in every aspect. If you’re vegetarian or vegan, Kyra has you covered with a variety of options to choose from.
The lounge offers plenty of comfortable seating and features a massive glass window that provides a stunning view of the airport with green mountains in the backdrop. The bathrooms were clean, the staff were friendly, and I appreciated that you’re allowed to recheck in after three hours if you wish to extend your stay. I even spotted a cool robot quietly cleaning the floor, which added a modern touch to the experience.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Kyra Lounge. If I find myself transiting through Hong Kong Airport again, Kyra will definitely be my lounge of choice...
