15 MOP ticket. The place is so nice, and they offer free professional tour guide that speaks mandarin (if you’re lucky and able to understand.) The tour will elaborate on their relationship with the history of Macao from different exhibits. Basically you will learn a brief history class after the tour. The history of Macau is very interesting.

A funny fact that most pavement of the famous attractions were paved with stones and designed in different images, mostly is waves and other symbols of sea. The surprise story is the original stones were all came from Portugal! (But the pavements we walked today mostly are rebuilt.) The reason why they transported stones in such long distance is because the Portugal trade-ships were empty when it sailed, and they needed the stones to balance the big caravel, to defense the wind and wave and prevent overturn. After the transportation, the stones would be use/sell in local. I heard 2 different story about those stones, one said the Portuguese government paved the pavement for their convenience, little by little continued their work for 1 hundred years. Another said the Portuguese sold (their) worthless stones to south China and made good money from it.

It even came out a phrase in Cantonese: sik seoi sam/(boat) eat water deep (technically means)having a deep draught (distance between the waterline and the bottom of the hull) (Slang) commonly used figuratively to refer to shops or middlemen making an unreasonably high profit.

Anyway, it’s cool to know some facts about the age of discovery, the golden time of Portugal.
