Xiaotaoyuan Mosque — Attraction in Shanghai

The Xiaotaoyuan Mosque Chinese: 小桃园清真寺; pinyin: Xiǎotáoyuán Qīngzhēnsì, formerly known as Islamic Western Mosqueor Shanghai Western Mosque, is a mosque in Huangpu District, Shanghai, China. It is the largest mosque in Shanghai. The Xiaotaoyuan Mosque was originally built in 1917 by Jin Ziyun, the Director of the Shanghai Islamic Board of Directors, who had bought the land. It was then rebuilt in 1925 and completed two years later in the shape it is today. The site of the mosque was the original site for the Shanghai Islamic Normal School which was later moved to Qinglian Street and renamed Pingliang Islamic Normal School. Other schools established by the mosques were the Islam Normal School, Primary School for Muslims, Mingcheng Primary School, Chongben Primary School, Shanghai Islam Orphanage etc.

Alhamdulillah, I had a great opportunity to have a Jummah here in xiaotaoyuan mosque in shanghai. which is one of the oldest mosque.

serene location, people are very much friendly. I have seen and interacted with many muslims of different country there.

The Halal food was awesome and a small market adjacent to the masjid for jummah visitors.

وصلنا الساعة 12 ولحقنا على الصف الأول. المسجد مريح وجميل. الدخول للمسجد سلس ويوجد مصلى نساء. دورات المياة ممتازة ونظيفة 👌

اذن الاذان الأول للجمعة الساعة 1 ، ثم بدأ درس مدته نصف ساعة (الملقي هو الامام). ثم قام الجميع لأداء السنة.

عند الساعة 1:38 أذن الاذان الثاني للجمعة، ثم بدأت الخطبة (خطبتين قصيرة) و انتهت الصلاة الساعة 1:52 (الامام يختلف عن خطيب الجمعة).

We arrived at 12:00 and made it to the first row. The mosque is comfy and peaceful. Entering the mosque is easy. Also, there is a women's prayer area. The restrooms are excellent and clean. 👌
