Not really a good experience staying in this hotel as the housekeeping office is just opposite my room. Hence there was one time when I opened my room, immediately I saw three housekeeping carts was parking along the hallway outside my door. Imagine when you open the hotel room door, the first thing you see is the housekeeping carts, and the terrible part is not just one cart, there were three carts parking side by side there. So I have to squeeze through when I wanted to walked from my room to the lift, and I still have to hold my son tight so that he would not accidentally touch the carts, especially on the area when the housekeeper throw the trash. Also, the housekeeping aunty is talking “excitedly” amongst themselves early in the morning (as my room was just opposite their housekeeping office), their voice has wake me up 😓😓Also, everyone out there pls take note, the review for this hotel may not genuine as the receptionists on duty would ask you to give the review in your booking website on the spot when you checked out. When you refuse and said you will give the review later, the receptionists would not give up and would persistently request you to give the review on the spot and to take a photo of the hotel as evidenced that we have provided a review. I then told him off that I was not satisfied with my stay in their hotel, only then the male receptionist stop asking me on this. But to be fair to this hotel, other than the housekeeping cart issues and the act of seeking good review from the Guest, the rest are okay for me, especially the bellboy/hotel porter who helped to carry my luggage to my room when I checked in and carry my luggage to taxi when I checked out. I really must say that’s the the best service which I have received so far throughout my 13 days stay in various hotel in Shanghai and Hangzhou. Thumb up to the uncle to help me on the luggages. Really appreciate it. This is the only thing that I like...

Read moreIt was my first time traveling to Shanghai with my family and I am awed by the service and the cleanliness of the hotel. It wasn’t easy traveling with seniors and kids, and I’m extremely glad that we chose this hotel in the end. The service was incredible the moment we stepped in. They were patient in answering all of our enquires. Even though the hotel is not near to a few attractions such as Nab Jing Lu, there’s a shuttle service that will bring you there, including bringing you to other attractions such as The Bund and Yu garden. There’s also a mall just opposite the hotel, you only need to cross the overhead bridge. Even though we stayed at the 3rd floor, we can’t really hear the noises on the outside. The room is clean, the water heater is working and I really enjoyed the rain shower. Though the hotel no longer provide toiletries, you can still request for them at the reception. The receptionist was so kind to also provide kids slippers for my niece. She’s so cute wearing them around. The hotel provides decent breakfast buffet. There isn’t a lot of variety but it was good enough. We only took their breakfast on the last day of our trip because come on, we are in Shanghai. Just go out and have fun and eat their local food. Unless of course you’re on a short business trip. Overall, I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could. Will I go back again? Of course I will if I were to visit Shanghai again. Thank you Mercure for the wonderful trip. My family and I truly enjoy our trip. Till...
