Great Wall - Indoor Climbing Gym — Attraction in Bogota, Capital District

We would have really loved to climb at this gym it looked beautiful. But we were instantly turned away because we did not have our vaccine passport. We are from the United States and heard this was the best gym in Colombia. We were not aware of the law that went into place two days ago, as we are on vacation. Also we drove for over 1 hour just to be turned away at the door. The staff was rude about the whole situation. I wish the website would have had more information about the vaccine passport. An employee took me off belay while I was near the top because he was busy talking to someone else and he “thought I was on back the ground”. I had to yell at him twice before he put me back on belay. If I did that to someone in a gym back home, I’d be kicked out.

Many of the employees are excellent and very friendly, but unfortunately it only takes one employee to make an entire place unsafe.

Came to lead climb here with my husband. We were impressed by how well staffed the gym was and the height and variety of routes. There were a good number of routes at our level (5.9 5.10) to lead, however some routes were hard to follow as the hold colours were similar. We enjoyed using the hang boards after our climb. There are large lockers for backpacks, bathrooms and a cute selection of ethnic chalkbags. Staff kindly booked a taxi for us when we left....
