Parque Central is the size of city block with a large gazebo in the middle, a couple of statues, lots of bench seating everywhere, there is usually 2 guys shining shoes, haitian ladies selling green mango, and a public phone bank. Its surrounded by the biggest catholic church in costa rica, mcdonalds, pague menos, all of the costa rican banks, bar/restaurants with balconies, carl's junior a women's clothing store, tortilleria, kfc, papa johns, popeyes, taco bell, as well as the national land mark theater Melico Salazar. It is in the very center of downtown and within walking distance of Universal (dept store), cheap colombian clothing stores, imported chinese goods stores, and EVERY bus stop. Read moreI really like this park, it has a wide variety of shops nearby, many delicious places to eat, many green areas, it has people selling typical food, a very beautiful place.
It is a quiet place and is always. Guarded by the municipal and federal police, around you will always see street vendors offering much-needed accessories for travelers, on the corner there is a McDonalds next door, pay less and on the other corner. A famous bar called the terrace, there are always many people at noon when it does not rain and the weather is warm, the sun. Covers almost the entire park which makes your stay there a bit complicated. Everything else is very nice.
