Donde Pipe Restaurante y Café — Restaurant in Liberia

I hate to complain about a place... but the only way to mess up chicken is by not cooking it. My family is from the islands so I'm used to eating casados de pollo, arroz, frijoles negro, y platanos maduros. I literally eat the same thing all the time so I'm quite disappointed to get undercooked chicken.

Además, I don't think I've ever had to give less than a 3 star review at a restaurant. The only reason I didn't give Donde Pipe a 1-star review was because I didn't bring the issue to anyone's attention and allow them a chance to resolve it. My juice was great. I enjoyed the air condition and fútbol game; also looks like other customers really enjoyed their experience, so maybe I'm just having a bad time in this town. Nothing has really gone right since I arrived here. Don't let my opinion sway you, because I think this may be the best restaurant in town... which still doesn't say much.

So I'm taking my food to-go and I'll cook (and season) it at Hostel Dondero, a similarly disappointing experience😔... right before I catch the next bus back to San José. #notsatisfied #lovejonezin for some good comida del caribe in...

Food was good, service was very poor. Do not recommend, there's lots of great places to eat in Liberia, there's no need to waste time here.

We sat and order when it was only us two and another table of three. We got our coffees promptly. A large group of cyclists sat, probably 8 or so, plus two more table of two. All got served their food before our order came out. For whatever reason, the cyclists were served before everyone.

The wait itself was not the problem, but rather that staff was either serving people ahead of us or that the restaurant is so disorganized that it could not handle more than a few people at a time. In any case, we won't be returning and I can't urge people enough to avoid Donde Pipe.

La comida era buena, el servicio era muy pobre. No lo recomiendo, hay un montón de buenos lugares para comer en Liberia, no hay necesidad de perder el tiempo aquí.

Nos sentamos y ordenamos cuando solo éramos nosotros dos y otra mesa de tres. Conseguimos nuestros cafés rápidamente. Un gran grupo de ciclistas se sentó, probablemente 8 más o menos, más dos mesas más de dos. A todos les sirvieron la comida antes de que saliera nuestro pedido. Por el motivo que sea, los ciclistas fueron atendidos antes que todos.

La espera en sí no fue el problema, sino que el personal estaba sirviendo a las personas antes que nosotros o que el restaurante estaba tan desorganizado que no podía atender a más de unas pocas personas a la vez.

En cualquier caso, no volveremos y no puedo instar a la gente lo suficiente a...

Stopped by Donde Pipe Restaurante y Café and tried the Costa Rican breakfast—wow! The gallo pinto was so flavorful, the plantains were perfectly sweet, and the eggs were cooked just right. Plus, those fresh tortillas? Amazing.

The coffee was super smooth and rich. The vibe of the place was cozy, and the staff were super friendly.

If you’re craving something authentic and delicious, definitely check this spot out. I’m already planning to go back...
