Such an inspiring botanical garden - including perfect orderly flower beds and wild areas as well. Here and there, you'll find useful explanations about the garden and of specific species - in Croatian and English. It is a wonderful place to find shadow and to rest a tired city mind and enjoy the poetic pond and wooden Japanese style bridge! In the beautifully restored pavilion, there was a small exhibition of furniture and graphics. The garden is lucky to have a couple of dinosaur trees - one of them newly discovered in Australia!! (See the second picture). For some reason, the glass houses were not open - anyway, it was too hot with 34 degrees outside in late August... But the clean and even beautiful toilets were open and free! The entrance price (2 euro)could definitely be higher (5 euro) to help the garden become even more enthralling!

Cute little botanical garden located in the central part of Zagreb, not far from the main train station. The price of admission is 10 Kuna so about $1.50 US. The park is small and you'll be able to traverse it lengthwise in about 10 minutes, it includes no greenhouses so there is no tropical flora on display. There is a small wooden Japanese-like bridge, a pond with fish and turtles and a free bathroom. If you intend to walk through the garden and get out on the other side you will be disappointed as there is only one entrance (which also serves as the exit). A pleasant place that's definitely worth the money.

Nice place for children and botanical lovers or just to have a quiet walk in the middle of the crowded city. Now you have to pay, but only 10kn for adults, 5kn students and children less. We didn't have kunas, but the man was really kind and we could pay in euros (but better have kn with you). Paying with card it's not possible. They have a great variety of plant species, including Mediterranean-Croatian ones. However, it seems they don't take care of all parts of the park, because some plants were very dry and some buildings need fixing. They also have a little pond with turtles and a wooden bridge.

I liked it. Yes, it's very small, and it doesn't have any super-exotic plants - but it's in Zagreb, city of 800 000 people, so it can't be compared with Kew Garden. Till last year the entrance was free of charge, as it's simply a bit more sophisticated park (now you have to pay 10kn). It has nice, clean bathrooms but no parking. You can easily see everything in one hour - maybe two if you take pictures. If you speak English while buying tickets you will be given free postcards ;)

This garden is a lovely place for visiting during your stay in Zagreb. It's a few minutes walking from the King Tomislav Square, so it's close to downtown. The entrance is free on Monday and Tuesday! The rest of the week you will need to pay 2 euros, they just accept cash. It's a nice place for enjoying nature in the middle of the city. Many different species of plants, trees, flowers during the autumn. It also has a beautiful Japanese garden. I think it's open until 2-3.
