Ginger Sushi — Restaurant in City of Zagreb

We visited 10 times. 1st time with a dog the other day. Horrible service. Arrogant staff. Average sushi. They asked us to remove a 5 lbs toy poodle from my wife's lap while sitting on the outside terrace that is literary on one of the busiest streets in Zagreb! We left without taking our food. The explanations ranged from the dog is at food height to the dog will dirty their seat cushions that were so dirty we didn't even use them.

All in all a dog unfriendly terrace in 2017 is unacceptable.

We are mindful and don't let dogs bark or sit too near other patrons, and the dog is well behaved, and for the love of God, it's a 5 lbs toy poodle that is cleaner than their establishment.

Dog lovers should avoid this place.

Ps. I've eaten sushi all over the world from Michelin rated restaurants to take out supermarket sushi and Ginger is average at best for takeaway but after this incident, I would rather skip...

I am a regular customer of Ginger Sushi, I don’t like posting reviews, however this experience requires sharing. I just purchased a shrimp roll basket in Ginger Sushi. It used to be full of shrimp spring rolls, now there are five pcs “shrimp” spring rolls - the basket is still the same size, only there are now just few rolls awkwardly placed in the mostly empty box. Price is 35 kn (take away). In addition, there was no shrimp in the “shrimp” rolls, just pieces of cooked fish. I complained about both quantity and obvious lack of shrimp and was told they can’t differentiate fish from shrimp, and anyhow they don’t make the rolls. I am including some photos, let me know if you see shrimp?

TLDR: Their rice is an offense to asian cuisine. They need to shut down and learn to cook rice.

Nice packaging. Inedible meal. Hands down, one of the the worst meals I've had. The chicken was cold, hard, smelt of burnt oil with a meat/fish odor.

There was no green onion, instead... Raw red pepper? Gross, but not at bad as the old fried chicken.

Beyond everything, the absolute worst part was the rice. This rice is offense to asian cuisine. Overcooked, paste-like texture, extremely salty. I had to spit it out. What a huge disappointment. If you can't make simple steamed rice, the foundation for many asian meals, especially Japanese, you have no business running a restaurant. Right in the trash.
