Our visit to this beachside restaurant makronissos was nothing short of disgusting. While we were trying to enjoy our meal, bartenders and bar staff were coming outside with garbage bags, emptying trash bins right next to the dining area, in full view of customers who were eating.
The smell and the sight were absolutely off-putting — it killed our appetite completely. But the worst part? Right after handling trash, the same staff went straight back inside to prepare coffees and cocktails, without washing their hands in front of anyone or following any visible hygiene protocol.
This is not just unprofessional — it’s unhygienic and unacceptable. They should have a person to clean outside who doesn’t go after to make drinks or food
In any properly run establishment, trash handling should be done away from the guests and never by the same people who prepare food and drinks, unless there are strict hygiene procedures in place.
Unfortunately, this experience will be remembered for all the wrong reasons. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Read moreWe usually visit this beach every year when we come to Cyprus, travelling from Larnaca everyday. It is the best beach in my opinion that Cyprus has to offer. The water is so clean and clear and the white sands are amazing. But, Ayia Napa tourist board have now shot themselves in the foot as they have totally overcrowded this beach, cramming in too many sunbeds. Making it very uncomfortable when the sunbed in front of you is so close. It has been like this past few years and each year I hope it has got better, but really hasn't. The beach bar, the staff are so miserable and rude and they blatantly overcharge the tourists. If you are a local, the prices are very different. The toilets are filthy and the smell is disgusting. They have had broken doors with the locks broken for years and have never been repaired. Compared to other toilets at the beaches in the Ayia Napa area these are atrocious. Real shame as the actual beach itself is beautiful, but everything...
Read moreBeautiful beach. Actually, two of them - a bigger one, excellent for swimming, and a small one, which is great for a more secluded enjoying of the sea, or for snorkeling. There are a few reefs very near the small beach, with interesting sea life. There are subeds and beach parasols for rent, at 2,5e each (either sun lounge or a parasol). There is very limited natural shade, although there is a lots of trees and pathways around the beach. You can place your own sun umbrela/parasol as well, although there weren't none when we were there. There is a public fountain with drinkable water, right behing the flag posts once you enter tha main beach. There are also showers in the beach, and public toilets whih are free to use, and kept very clean. The only downside is that there is only one bar, with high prices and at best average food. There is also one restaurant there (Korali) but we...
