Muzeum fotografie a moderních obrazových médií — Attraction in okres Jindřichův Hradec

Bývalá jezuitská kolej byla postavena v letech 1595-1605 nákladem Adama II. z Hradce a jeho manželky Kateřiny z Montfortu. Tehdy bylo na hradbách zbouráno přes 20 domů a na jejich místě postaveny dva mohutné objekty, určené jezuitům - kolej a později protější seminář. Kolej byla postavena stavitelem Martinem Vlachem. Jihovýchodní roh koleje sousedí se západní částí lodi kaple sv. Maří Magdaleny. V roce 1773, když byl zrušen jezuitský řád, byla jindřichohradecká kolej rozpuštěna. Jezuité však ve městě zůstali, protože se domnívali, že budou moci dál učit na gymnáziu. V roce 1779 však byla kolej přeměněna na kasárna a byl v nich ubytován granátnický prapor. V zrestaurovaných prostorách dnes najdete muzeum fotografie.

The former Jesuit college was built in the years 1595-1605 at the expense of Adam II. of Hradec and his wife Catherine of Montfort. At that time, over 20 houses were demolished on the walls and two large objects were built in their place, intended for the Jesuits - a dormitory and later the opposite seminary. The dormitory is a masterpiece by the builder Martin Vlach. The southeast corner of the dormitory is adjacent to the western part of the nave of the chapel of St. Mary Magdalene.
