Kostel svatého Jana Nepomuckého — Attraction in okres Plzeň-město

Kostel je spjatý z historií Redemptoristického řádu, který přišel do města roku 1907. O dva roky později byl zřízen spolek pro výstavbu kostela a v roce 1910 byla zahájena jeho stavba. V následujícím roce došlo k jeho vysvěcení. Kostel byl postaven v pseudorománském slohu podle plánů architektů Jana Svobody a Františka Stalmachera. Trojlodní stavba je dlouhá 50 m a má dvě 63metrové věže. Původní zvony Jan, Alfons, Marie a Josef byly zrekvírovány pro válečné účely. Ty dnešní vznikly v roce 1929 v dílně Rudolfa Pernera. Hlavní oltář sv. Jana Nepomuckého, boční oltáře P. Marie Ustavičné Pomoci a sv. Josefa byly vyrobeny podle návrhů prof. Jana Kastnera Františkem Kadeřábkem z Prahy. Při kostele byl v letech 1935-1936 postaven klášter, dnes objekt užívá Policie ČR.

The church is linked to the history of the Redemptorist Order, which came to the town in 1907. Two years later, a society for the construction of the church was established and in 1910 the work began. In the following year it was consecrated. The church was built in the pseudo-Romanesque style according to the plans of architects Jan Svoboda and František Stalmacher. The three-aisled building is 50 m long and has two 63 m high towers. The original bells Jan, Alfons, Marie and Josef were requisitioned for war purposes. The present ones were made in 1929 in the workshop of Rudolf Perner. The main altar of St. John of Nepomuk, the side altars of Our Lady of Consolation and St. Joseph were made according to the designs of Prof. Jan Kastner by František Kadeřábek from Prague. Ahoj nebo Dobrý den. Kostel Svatého Jana Nepomuckého v Plzni je moc pěkný kostel. Rád tam chodím. Byl jsem tam i 19.1.2020 protože dne 19.1.2017 mi umřela má ségra Marta.T. V tomto kostele dělají pěkné slovenské i české svaté mše. Kéž by bylo ještě Československo. A né jak nás rozdělili ty blbí...
