This is a true architectural masterpiece, striking in its grandeur and exquisite details.

This synagogue is the third largest in Europe, and the second in the Czech Republic after Prague, and its scale immediately arouses admiration! I am also impressed by the quality of the restoration: the red brick facade has retained its historical expressiveness, the interior has been restored with respect for the original design - the paintings, decorative elements and the organ shine again in all their glory!

The atmosphere inside is calm and solemn, even if you are not a religious person, this place makes a deep impression if you are a lover of architecture!

The building is also used...

This synagoge is impressive. It's the second largest synagoge in Europe and third largest in the world. It was built by architect Emanuel Klotz in 1888 after the initial plan by architect Max Fleischer was rejected by the mayor.

The synagoge survived WWII by being turned into a storage hall. During Communism it was shut down. The last service took place in 1973. It was not until the 90s that the dilapidated building was renovated.

Today, it is beautifully maintained and has a lot of information available, found on digital displays on the first floor. It's worth browsing...
