This hotel is an absolute classic, possibly even a cult classic, like a film set from 1960s Czechoslovakia as others have mentioned. It’s a great experience and also offers top service and some modern conveniences, and is very cleanly and relatively affordable. Breakfast was great (in spite of other reviews) and the lunch menu is a bargain (about 120 ck), though fairly basic. ||||It really is a gem, though only for those who are nostalgic or people into Wes Anderson/The Shining/Twin Peaked. I would highly recommend it for an iron curtain experience overlayed on an extremely grand 19th century hotel. The location is perfect and situated on a lovely park near the central square and many shops. Very easy to get around on foot or by the nearby tram.
The breakfast was good and overnight parking was for a fair price ($6).
