Fresh seasonable vegetables and rustic but traditional techniques are on display here. The food is tasty, but Fasangården gets 4 stars from me for missing the mark on its value-to-price radio, especially as compared to comparable price points in Copenhagen, a foodie haven in Europe.
The dishes are well thought out, but not all fully executed on, in my opinion. First, highlights:
The best venison I’ve ever had. Cooked to absolute perfection and paired with a savory rose-reduction, it’s a triumph. The mackerel dish and vegetable dishes were also great starters, light on the palate and they came out quickly. Inventive way to serve produce and fish you find throughout Scandinavia.

The dessert pastry shell felt stale, and the textural contrast against the frozen yogurt was kind of uncomfortable. The strawberries were the best part, but they’re really just strawberries.

Read moreReally bad experience. First time, I felt threatened in København.
The guy with the name Rasmus, underlining that he is a partner like he wanted to place himself in a powerful position towards us, he was so rude and aggressive. Pushing us away from the entrance and almost ready like to push or punch my wife because he had guests.. Making us feel like we are not equal with the people already in the restaurant.. The reason? Initially, being rude, refused to served us and when we returned to give a feedback about his behaviour..he lost control. For sure not only unprofessional but also not even the basic human behaviour you can expect from fellow citizens..and certainly, nothing like the culture of people we are used to in the area..
We wish in the future a better behaviour for the customers which are going to visit the place..and hope for a change regarding service-minded approach...

Though I have yet to try the food, I visit weekly for a drink, and every time, I am met with warmth, kindness, and exceptional service which keeps me coming back.
The team here truly makes the experience special. They always welcome me with a smile, making this unique place feel like a home away from home. The setting is breathtaking—steeped in history, yet effortlessly inviting. Whether enjoying a quiet moment in the beautiful courtyard or soaking in the timeless atmosphere indoors, there’s a sense of tranquility that keeps me coming back.
A place like this is rare, not just for its beauty but for the people who bring it to life. I cannot recommend it...
