Many years ago, I set myself on a mission — a sacred quest, really — to find the best burger in the world. From greasy grillbar patties drowned in ketchup to high-end wagyu monstrosities dressed up in foie gras and gold leaf, I’ve eaten burgers in every shape and form. Some were good, a few were great. But none — none — even came close to what I experienced the day I bit into the truffle burger from CPH Smash.

The beef patty is a masterclass in the Maillard reaction — crisped edges that shatter just enough to release waves of savory, caramelized flavor. The smash technique isn’t just a gimmick here — it’s an exact science, and they’ve perfected it to the decimal. The seasoning is flawless, the dressing perfectly tuned, and the toppings? Balanced, intentional, no filler — just the best parts of the orchestra playing in harmony.

This burger didn’t just satisfy me — it rewrote my definition of what a burger could be. It’s lived rent-free in my mind ever since, showing up in moments of hunger and quiet reflection. I’ve dreamt about it. Measured others against it. Tried to explain it to friends and failed, because words fall short.

If you think you’ve tasted the best burger, chances are — you haven’t. Not until you’ve stood in front of CPH Smash, unwrapped this holy grail of a burger, and had your expectations annihilated in the best possible way.

I’ve waited for them to get a google profile so I can give them five stars for a while! The best smash burgers I’ve tried and also among the best burgers I’ve tried overall easily a top 1-2. The caramelisation on the patties is immaculate. Their fries are crispy and unique. Maybe a bit too much pepper on the patty and salt on the fries but that’s something you can ask to change I’m sure the staff is amazingly kind as well, easy to communicate with them on instagram as well. They also communicate their closing times so people don’t come for naught. I hope when they inevitably get more customers and fame that the quality stays the same. Keep up the amazing work and introduce people to smash burgers here in Denmark.

I don't say this lightly but this is the best burger in Copenhagen currently. Having tried most alternatives in city, nobody else comes close to the taste these guys achieve at Cph Smash. It's simple and pictures do not do the taste justice. It's exactly how you want your perfect burger to be. The dry aged beef alongside the love put into the filling make for a taste experience that keeps you coming back. Cheeseburger is their best, but the Jalapeno one is great too.
