We visited this lovely restaurant during Dining Week and got their preset menu and wine menu.
The starter, a creamy Jerusalem artichoke soup with herb oil and crunchy buckwheat only had one flaw - there should have been more! The main; crispy Duroc pork, baked and pureed pumpkin and kale was lovely in taste but a bit off in texture, as the crispy kale was more on the chewy (and very hard to cut) side. I thought the portion was the perfect size but my partner would have liked a good 50% more. The dessert was the perfect dish to finish the meal with a fresh lime creme, coconut icecreme and very crunchy and somewhat large shortbread crumble. The wine menu eas a great match.
The service was excellent and attentive in a respectful yet personable way. Our waiter was amazing at presenting both dishes and drinks and set a great pace with clearing the table and bringing new dishes.
So why not 5 stars? Well, it was clear that they were at capacity during Dining Week. We got a table right by the door and toilets, so it was drafty for the entire meal. We also got a couple of butts in our faces, when people stod almost on top of us putting on their jackets. Also their well-meaning and very active social media manager was a bit stressful to have walk around us for a good 20 minutes in the beginning of our meal.
I will definitely be back, just never during...
