Plaza Lama — Attraction in Santo Domingo

My experience with this store it's a very bad one. We ordered online a tower washer/ dryer machine, the delivery date was set and respected which is the reason I gave one star. The delivery day was a mess, they called after 7am asking for the location. At 8am showed up at our building yelling "PLAZA LAMA!!! LA LAVADORA!!!" like it was the whole building business. The driver was demanding for us to come downstairs to show our receipt, which we didn't do. After that he came upstairs just to tell me that they have a policy that make them responsible only to the 2nd. floor, and since we are in a 3rd floor I had to go downstairs to receive the equipment and they would make me the favor to bring it to my floor but if anything happens to it it was my responsibility. This was laughable and of course I declined to receive the item. It was a total loss of time for us. We placed the same order in other store and the whole process was a pleasure. This is one of the smaller branches of Plaza Lama and has a decent selection of appliances and furniture. However they did not have a remote control for Tecnomaster TVs which they sell by the hundreds. Big store. Lots of different things to buy here from gym equipment to appliances to shoes to glassware. Parking available (with no shade). Terrible part of town I would not want to live anywhere near here. Staff is very nice and helpful. Clothing prices are a little high compared to smaller places but I think it's a good place to go for...
