Casa Sánchez Hotel — Hotel in Santo Domingo

The reasons why I'm writing this is because I gave the manager a chance to call me and rectify the situation and she never did, First we were giving the wrong rates as lower rates were confirmed on a conversation on line. When we got there the lady who is the night manager was not professional and super rude. When we arrived there was only 1 towel in the room when the reservation clearly said two people. left t the room to get dinner when we return there was no hot water.. not even soap nothing. I called the front desk and explained the situation. She did call someone to get it fixed but with such attitute as if we were bothering her. She even said the manager was getting a bar of soap for the room. |The bed.. NO COMFORTERS only a very thin sheet, which is funny because the only thing that was nice was the AC. The pictures on line ARE not a reflection of the hotel itself,|I have to say ..the breakfast was great and the gentleman who took care of us in the AM was super nice. We were planning on staying 3 nights.. but ended up going to another one . Please please be aware , this place could be the best little hotel in town!! but right now is...

We were a party of five, staying 3 nights in both the Mirabel and British suites. Everything was perfect and I can't wait to go back. What you see in the photos is what you get, as far as that goes. What you do not see in the photos is the exceptional level of friendly and helpful service. I highly recommend that you contact the activities coordinator, Nelsa, before your arrival, to arrange your stay and itinerary. She arranged for a rooftop BBQ on our first night, a special bottle of rum at the bar for my exclusive use, on premises serving of a lunch that was delivered and a private guide to show us around the Colonial Zone. She offered to do much more but I had already arranged for these things before arrival (e.g. taxi transfers and restaurant reservations). What you also do not see from the photos is the exceptional convenience of the location. Everything that you need is in easy walking distance. The relatively small number of adults-only guests adds to the pleasure; the premises remain relatively tranquil and it never feels...

I went to look at this hotel two years ago when I was on another trip and decided on my next trip I would stay here. Upon arrival I see they have expanded to building next door also. Once I checked into my room and looked around it was apparent the hotel had gone downhill. The pool area had missing tiles around pool my room was terrible with wallpaper coming off, the bed sheets were not clean and the bed made noise ever time I moved, the curtains in the room were so bad I can’t even explain and bathroom shower was below average. I kindly went to the front and they agreed to show me another room which I did look and the other room was better but having been in other room I just was not comfortable staying. I ask if I could get refund for a part of reservation she informed me that it was booked through Expedia and it was past time to issue any refund so I would have to pay all 4 days. She is correct about reservations and cancel policy as I read. I took a walk in city to find another...
