There are a lot of reviews complaining about how cheesy the Dracula Experience is and I think that's unfortunate. After all, cheesy vampire movies are complete and utter joy to watch! If you disagree, then this attraction may not be your cup of tea. Is it terrifying? No. There was one jump-scare that got me a little, but I wasn't expecting a scream-fest. It doesn't need to be horrifying to be entertaining. Is it informative? Yes. It provides a good overview of the Dracula story and explicitly identifies how Whitby is incorporated into Bram Stoker's text. The video at the end obviously wasn't produced in Hollywood, but it's fun and I liked it - what else do you really need for £5? I also really appreciated that they have the actual cloak worn by Christopher Lee in the Hammer Dracula films. We got our tickets in advance online, but there was no wait when we entered. I'd still encourage purchasing early, though, as Whitby tourism really picks up during the summer. Overall, the Dracula Experience delivers exactly what it promises - a short bit of Dracula-themed fun. If that's what you're after, then this will not disappoint!

Visited 3rd October 2024 Definitely just a money grab there was no experience about it just a small house like building containing dressed up mannequins with video and sound effects. Not quite what I was expecting, felt like a complete waste of time with how quickly it was over and how little information there was. Not only this but due to how dark it was (for spooky effect I realise) you couldn't read any of the information given easily. The only good part was probably the little movie at the end of the experience that had some basic information. In addition to this there wasn't a souvenir or gift shop just a couple magnets as you entered the building that were being sold at every other little tourist gift shop. Really upsetting been as I was so excited before entering as a Dracula fan new to Whitby (as you can see in the first images) - Definitely room for improvement as Id love a full experience into the history of Dracula through the ages etc

I have always wanted to visit here, and I'm so glad I did today. As a fan of horror and anything scary, I had high hopes for this experience, and I certainly wasn't disappointed! Entry was only £5 for an adult, which is great value for 30 minutes of entertainment. From the minute you enter with the life-size Dracula statue and throne, you can have your photo taken with you become fully immersed in the world of Dracula. Although the museum was very dated and low-budget, there were scares around every dark corner with animatronics ready to jump out at you and watch out for the masked guy who lurks in the dark, ready to scare the 😱 out of you!!! There is an informative video at the end all about Vlad The Impaler and the story behind Bram Stoker's Dracula story, which is really enjoyable also. I highly recommend this experience to any horror fan it definitely is a must-see.

This was a "must visit" place for my partner and I. We are horror fans and love visiting these types of things. It's obviously dark in there and made some of the reading difficult, they did have audio to listen to which was good, though you can hear some overlap when you get to the next panel. We did have one or two jump scares and someone dressed in a black cloak near the end and gave us a little spook. The movie at the end was informative and it's nice getting some history about Whitby and ties to a classic book. Overall, it was a little underwhelming. We didn't see a gift shop and I love getting souvenirs, so it was a bit disappointing. The building is really small which can make it feels cramped and moving around difficult if it's really busy. It's a visit once type thing unfortunately.

Absolutely loved the Dracula Experience, if you are a horror fan and love Dracula you must visit this. 🕸️🦇 It's £5 each (they have to make a living remember), ignore all of the bad reviews they are obviously very boring people that don't appreciate much in life! It had a couple of jump scares in there, and I don't get scared of anything but it made me jump a couple of times! I liked that it was really dark, it added to the spooky feel and the moving models were super cool. Loved seeing the cape worn by Christopher Lee when he played Dracula in the Hammer Horror films. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and like I say ignore the bad reviews because it was real fun! 🖤🦇
