Was looking forward to this when I read about Whitby but my advice now is ......... Don't waste your money, read the plaque in the front window or the front page of their website and you'll know more about Dracula than you'll ever get from the 'supposed' exhibition.... 'I use the term exhibition very loosely'. I'm sure the good reviws on here are from people who visited another attraction!

Firstly the the lighting is appalling! With the uneven floors it's downright dangerous in there, most of it's broken and virtually non existent, rather than being dimly lit and spooky. It's so bad you can't even see half of the exhibits, you'll need your phone or your phone to see most of them. In actual fact I wouldn't even bother most of them are so old they actually look like they've come from the Halloween section in a shop and I've seen far better and realistic in the local High Street shops. There are descriptor plaques, (well bits of poorly laminated paper), spurioulsy placed around explaining what some of them are, you'll definately need your phone for them!

There is an audio track playing as you go around but to be honest it's so poorly recorded and differing ones playing so close to each other that it's absolutely useless and the noise freaks you out more than anything in there.

We were warned as we went in that it was a unique experience and insight into Dracula and his connection with Whitby and really scary...... it was unique alright! Not for the right reasons, however, in fact the only memorable bit from it is to tell others not to bother, it's garbage. As for an insight etc. Like I said earlier, read the website or the plaque in the window and you'll learn more than from this experience.

It's described as 'a show with live actors', using animated scenes, electronic special effects and live actors...... we were told that there were live actors in on that day. We didn't see any special effects. We did see an animated scene but have seen better and scarier in a funfair. As for live actors..... there was one, dressed as a werewolf...... he seemed more intimidated by me when I stared back at him after he turned his head and tried to scare me.

As you go in there is a poster statung there is a free bonus video at the end. Not sure how it's a bonus? Don't bother, buy a book, (about 99p on Amazon), and you'll learn a lot more.

It's described on the website as, 'The Dracula Experience is a unique tour through the Dracula Story and its connection to Whitby. As you enter a dreadful fear will come upon you. The Count’s mysterious appearance and frightening warning will make you wonder if you should have come to Whitby… ' They should be prosecuted for mis-representation, and charging £5 for something that it's not!! Absolute Garbage!!!

Sort it out or shut it down, it's false advertising and you're clearly conning people. It's hardly surprising there's no feedback on here from the owners and when you leave the building it's via a rear entrance, well clear of the front of the building and were you can't be bothered walking back around to complain.... oh wait though there's a no refund policy. Posted all over the walls as you walk in, no surprises there!! Donate your money to a charity!
