I left the corporate world behind to invent new technologies, things to benefit our world and our species. I met people keen to the future of a world without poverty pollution and pessimism. This was a place of Sharp minds optimism creative problem. solving a new brighter decentralised boarder less world. Lets face it boarders are there for deciding resources establishing laws. a world with no poverty needs no dividing lines. A decentralised world needs no dispute over regulations. Alvar Aalto tenía un plan. En 1962 le encargaron un proyecto de urbanismo que modernizase Helsinki. La piedra angular sería un gran centro de congresos y conciertos que el arquitecto tardó nueve años en construir (con una sucesiva ampliación). El resultado, Finlandia Hall, la mejor huella del legado artístico de Aalto en su país. Tras tres años cerrado por una profunda renovación, Finlandia Hall renació hace unos días con nuevos espacios, como un restaurante bistró, una cafetería y, atención, apartamentos en los que alojarse. En Finlandia Hall, cada accesorio de iluminación, cada pieza de mobiliario, así como todos los paneles y materiales del suelo fueron especialmente diseñados por el finlandés, quien utilizó el mármol blanco tanto en el exterior, donde contrasta con el granito negro, como en el interior. En este renacer, el estudio local Arkkitehdit NRT ha renovado las placas de mármol de Carrara de las fachadas, ha restaurado los muebles del interior y ha reorganizado los 30.000 metros cuadrados del centro nuevos espacios expositivos. Y es que en esta nueva etapa Finlandia Hall se convertirá en un museo. En junio de este año se inaugurará una exposición permanente, que ofrecerá una exploración experimental tanto de la identidad finlandesa como de la obra e inspiración creativa de Alvar, Aino y Elissa Aalto. La exposición ofrecerá la oportunidad de conocer en profundidad el legado y los principios de diseño del arquitecto, e invita a los visitantes a participar en sus propios experimentos creativos inspirados por este trío de artista.
