Storyville — Restaurant in Helsinki sub-region

This used to be a place for music, but it has suddenly been taken over by the older folk wich basically own the place. At least, if you were to ask them. Most of the customers are very rude, pushy and entitled. The staff is wonderful though.

I’ve tried to visit a coupled of times as a younger person but both times got heckled by an older woman. One of which accused me blatantly of coming there to “steal the older men from them for money” and called me a racial slur.

I’ve heard many accounts of this kind of stuff happening so will unfortunately skip this place in the future. Besides, the seats are always “taken” and even if they’re available, some customer might be guarding them for a friend so there’s hardly ever space available...

The vibe of the place was amazing and lived up to the expectation. First night we reached at 11 -no music (ends at 10) and no food served (kitchen closes at 1030). It's a walk from Bulevardi, closer to the parliament, take Lime :) We went back the next evening at 8 and the place was packed. It's free seating and because it's the summer - the entire setup is outside. The music was fine but the food not so much. Got the veggie burger, and it's the local version of beyond meat. Used to be a nice-enough music venue and restaurant. Unfortunately, in the recent years, it has become more and more tourist-trap like and has been coasting on its old reputation. Nowadays, the food and drinks are quite overpriced and the staff is blunt if not rude. If you, for some reason, end going here, make sure you get what you order and double check your bill. We did not, and got charged for a drink that we did not order. Reclamation later on has lead to radio silence from the restaurant. Not...
