Sara Hilden Art Museum — Attraction in Tampere sub-region

A small 2 storey museum with a cafe located a little outside the city centre.

The museum was showcasing a temporary exhibition by THOMAS HOUSEAGO – WE WITH NICK CAVE & BRAD PITT.

The art and sculptures featured were abstract.

It was a curiosity to experience and contemplate the tempest of Brad Pitt in his art pieces e.g. the acrylic blocks of bullet sprays slowed and frozen in time.

The life of the devil conveyed in a series of porcelain pieces from birth to death was unusual since the devil is more populary accepted as immortal. Brings to mind the Song by Joan Osborn "One of Us".

We would have liked to have seen the permanent artworks of local artists collected by Sara Hilden but sadly none were on display.

The visit took less than 2 hours, a part of the time was spent at the café.

🌟 Under an Endless Light 🌟 Kävin äskettäin Sara Hildenin taidemuseossa ihailemassa erään ranskalaisen nykytaiteilijan teoksia🎨Vaikka päivä oli sateinen ja harmaa, näyttelyssä käytetyt kirkkaat värit toivat hymyn huulille.😎

Jos oikein ymmärsin, kuvissa näkyvät abstraktit teokset esittävät luontoa ja kevään kukoistusta. Itselle jäi parhaiten mieleen eriväristen lasitiilten tekemä kontrasti museon karuille betoniseinille. Veistospuistossa oleva kultainen kukka ja puista riippuvat helminauhat olivat myös hauska lisäys. (Hätkähdin kun satuin ulkona kävelessäni nostamaan päätäni, ja puiden latvojen sijasta näinkin jättimäisen helmikorun.😅)

Arvostelun viides tähti lähti museon hankalasta sijainnista. Viihtyisää veistospuistoa ympäröi meluisa ympäristö, jonka kruunasivat Särkänniemen laitteissa kiljuvat ihmiset.

Itse museoalueelle oli haastava päästä, sillä opastukset tukivat Särkänniemi- rannekkeen ostamista, eli jouduit kävelemään huvipuiston lävitse päästäksesi perille.

We visited Heikki Marila exhibition that was well curated and perfect fit for the wonderful brutalist concrete building by architect Pekka Ilveskoski. There was an audio guide giving background information for the works and reducing the amount of typical texts on walls. The café was modest but had exhibits and a wonderful view of the lake.
