I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Nanda Devi. We were a group of friends, gathering for a farewell lunch, expecting a pleasant afternoon. Unfortunately, the customer service was abysmal.
We all together spent over 100€. The waitress started scolding (while collecting dishes) about food wastage. Food waste isn't a good thing, we agreed, but the waste was quite minimal as one of our friend didn't like vegetable fritters. And there were few crusts of 'naan' as they were not edible. I repeat that we're not in favor of intentional food wastage. But you never start scolding a customer.
Getting back to the sotry, we all respectfully agreed and listened to what she said but on her way back to the kitchen she bad mouth about us in her local language "Punjabi" and the English translation of the sentence is "They don't have table manners". I believe, this is the worst thing you could ever say to a customer.
This was heared luckily by one of us as we also understand Punjabi. For this particular reason we went to staff to address her bad mouthing but she didn't even apologised for this and shamelessly stated "we say/behave the same to every customer".
In short, our afternoon was ruined by the disrespectful and unprofessional conduct of the staff. We certainly won't be returning and wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a respectful...
Read moreToday I visited Nanda Devi restaurant for Lunch Buffet, and I had a really really horrible experience, mainly because of their terrible customer service.
We were a group of 7 friends and from the moment we walked in, it was clear that the customer care was not a priority. Had to say to the staff again and again to refill the Naan.
Talking about the food, the flavours were bland and lacked the vibrant spices as one would expect from Indian cuisine. Even the fresh salad items looked wilted and unappealing.
The worst part came at the end of our meal when a mid-aged female staff misbehaved with us, which was incredibly rude and unprofessional. When we tried to express our dissatisfaction about her behaviour, an old uncle came from kitchen and started behaving rudely as well. Both of them said "You don't have to come again to this restaurant". They also made some racist remarks, which were not only rude but deeply offensive. Their behaviour left us feeling disrespected.
I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone and will surely not be returning. There are many other places in town that offer better food and, most importantly, far...

P.S. I’m not the only one with such reviews
I recently visited Nanda Devi and had one of the worst dining experiences ever. The naan bread had uncooked, inedible parts that we had to leave on our plates. The staff responded unprofessionally, telling us that if it happened again, we would either be charged extra or not to return to the restaurant again. The situation worsened when the staff insulted us using their native language in front of their colleagues. Such rude and offensive behavior is completely unacceptable, especially in a customer service-oriented business. The lack of respect and professionalism at Nanda Devi was appalling. I advise all potential customers to refrain from visiting this restaurant, as there are plenty of other places where you can enjoy a meal without being subjected to such...
