Finlayson Palace — Restaurant in Tampere sub-region

Astonishing mileu and grand experience is the words I'd use to describe this restaurant. It's a bit glamorous for common people especially from the price point of view so definitely not for everyone.

Main course prices at the alacarte menu start from 20 Euros and lunch prices is 27 Euros which contain three different courses to choose from. Lunch is served from Tuesday to Friday at 11am to 2pm. Regular 0,33L lager beer cost here 8 Euros which is a bit on the expensive side.

Yes this isn't exactly common people restaurant as I already mentioned. This is for gentrification generation and tourists spending their time at Tampere. This isn't for me personally even though it's really enjoyable place to visit. This place has phenomal mileu and atmosphere.

Service is great and professional so nothing to complain there really. This place is popular for bigger groups and other grand parties especially wedding parties because there's so much room and place just shine from the historical point of view.

Nothing major to complain here really. Everything is too expensive for common people here but if you have the money and want nice and cozy and grand restaurant experience then this might be your place to visit. It isn't going to be...

Upon arriving, with all the empty seat in the room, we were been send to the most right hand and darkest corner. Another couple comes 3 min after we seated, they got the table in the middle, and their table properly setup with water, napkins, dinner wares... and our table... was still empty after 10min, and even the candle on our table was not lid, we have to get it fire up our self.

We ask the waiter of our table for A La Carte menu, he just reply... “No, only Buffet”. But we have asked and talked with another staff about the lunch menu already... We explain to the waiter, than the waiter said “Alright”, came back with the menu, and almost as throwing the dinner ware onto our table...

The food is very very salty also, not much specialty flavor.

I would say this place is terrible, the staff are unprofessional and to some degree... racial discrimination in my experience. It is the most disappointing restaurant in Finland 🇫🇮...

We visited on a summery Saturday. There was a wedding party indoors, but the terrace served other customers as well.

The setting is very charming: an old house in the middle of a large, peaceful park works extremely well! The food was surprisingly good (our expectations weren’t high), and the price-to-quality ratio is reasonable.

However, the service was borderline hostile. The staff (on our visit, a middle-aged male waiter) didn’t respond to our greeting, spoke only reluctantly, questioned our need for a second napkin (!), and was generally surly and unfriendly.

A nice spot to stop for a beer, but the level of service is rock bottom. You’ll get a better atmosphere for less money by buying beers and picnic snacks from the Lidl around the corner and enjoying them in the park. Compared to this, the service at Lidl was...
