Unreliable manager we made a booking and sent and email and then when we called to double check and they cancelled our small group to take a bigger group better go somewhere else. Edition: I was not aggressive. I was told that they made an error and that the domain does not take less than 10 guests. When I asked for an apology he started to shift the blame on me for changing the number of guests. Even when I apologised first he did not want to apologise. He said that we had a group of 50 to cater for so he cancelled us. I do not wish to go in the centre I booked and emailed to come to the domain and you have ruined my dad’s 67th birthday! Your proposal was to move us to another not preferred location so you can make more money. The best accommodation was to welcome us as per your email. So thank you for ruining our holiday ! You have my email address if you want to further explain or discuss further I am happy to discuss. Edit 2: It was my father 67 years old man who is coming to do the tasting (one person) and I did say that to you and you said it is not possible to accommodate us in the domain beach (which is our preferred choice not the centre). I did visit your website and emailed you and specifically requested the domain branch and you accepted this then when I called you said you are the manager and that your colleague made a mistake. It was not comfortable for my group to go to the centre you said because are busy and have 50 people group in the domain branch and that groups from 1-10 can only be booked in the city centre branch and not in the domain. So it’s your benefit not our comfort and you made a mistake. Going to the city centre is not what I wanted and was not to make me comfortable you said word for word that it’s two of us ( you and your colleague) and we have a big group and started exercising your authority. I was not rude to you, you were too arrogant to admit your team made an error booking us in the domain and then making it sound like your doing us a favour by sending us to a branch that is not our choice for your...
Read moreI have organized a group winetasting for a special occasion.
Upon arrival, we were "seated" within the shop area because apparently another room was occupied. While it was confirmed before that we could also be outside if the wheather was nice, they were very inflexible and we couldn't move to an outside area. I provided the information that we had 4 pregnant women/drivers with us about a month before the event. Upon arrival I was very much lectured that I have not specifically ordered any juice (even though I did via email) and that now they have to check if they can find any. After a while and some more requests, they were provided with one bottle of orange juice and some tab water. The food was also not applicable (soft cheese and meat) for them but no alternatives were provided (only bread). I confirmed that we were 10 Vegetarians and 5 non-vegetarians, but it was a standard platter with equally as much meat as cheese.
We could hardly all find a place to sit in the shop area and for the cheese/charcutiere platters, we were standing around eating from paper plates and cutlery. Considering this was an additional 225 Euro just for the food, I would have at least expected a table and some proper cutlery/plates.
All in all, it's a beautiful house and vineyard, nice wines and the food quality was good, the information provided was interesting but considering we emailed back and forth for about a month before the event, it was treated like a walk-in winetasting - definitely not worth the 420 Euros we paid and all the communication and...
Read moreWe visited this winery during our visit to Riquewihr. We visited multiple wineries in the village, but collectively this was our favourite visit of our trip.
The winery itself is beautiful. The buildings and decor, it feels special even before you enter.
We didn’t have a reservation and didn’t know what was available. We dropped in and there are some pre-set degustation’s / tastings. We opted for the one with 8 glasses, affordable and a great chance to try the domaine’s range of wines including the grand cru’s.
The wines were delicious, but our experience was exception thanks to Noa. He was the perfect guide for our wine tasting and was knowledgeable about these wines. We shared that our preference was dry wines and he was able to adjust the degustation to suit our palettes.
Best tasting in the are, and a great shop to buy wines to take home....
