We booked our wine tasting 2 weeks in advance with two of my friends, and it was indicated that the tasting is free of charge. When we arrived at the winery at the booked time, the lady we found in the counter was really unfriendly, and told us that they don't do tastings at all! Which was weird not only because of our confirmed booking, but also because on the street there are various billboards advertising the winery's tastings... Anyway, after showing my confirmation email, she told us that she needs to talk to her boss. Which she didn't do, but instead she came back immediately with a bottle of wine, saying that we can have a tasting, but it costs EUR 8 per person, then started explaining that the way they "usually" do the tasting is showing one wine from each type...guess she started to remember at that point that they do tastings afterall. During the tasting she was also very unfriendly, didn't talk about the wines or the winery at all, just poured the wine and left us - essentially she made us feel bad for bothering her with our presence. As we entered the tasting room I really did like the décor which was warm and gave me the feel of the French countryside. We stepped up to the bar and quietly waited while the woman behind the bar spoke to some other guests. When she came to assist us she was very professional, but I would not say friendly. She was courteous, professional, and kind of stand-offish (for lack of a better word). She was however very knowledgeable about the wines, and we did end up buying two bottles while we were there. If she had been a bit more friendly we probably would have walked out with more wine in hand, but the wine didn't sell its self. Of the four wines we tasted we took two bottles home with us. ||We may have stayed longer if we had felt more comfortable. ||So I'm guessing I need to work more...
