Iltis Jacques et Fils — Attraction in Colmar-Ribeauvillé

Back to Alsace, which is one of our favorite wine regions. This time to Iltis Jacques et Fils in Saint-Hippolyte. We have over 40 years of deep interest in wine and came here with no preconceived notions but were pleasantly surprised. What fantastic wines are produced here. Both in width and depth, they maintain a high level. Add to that a fantastic reception with interesting discussions and good information about the wines. We can strongly recommend Iltis. A fantastic winery set in the beautiful village of St Hippolyte. The winemaker was exceptionally welcoming and accommodating, being very generous in sharing his great selection of wines. The Gewürztraminer in particular is of a very high standard, offering wines from the entry level through to the selection de grains nobles (Altenberg de Bergheim being the Grand Cru site). es ist praktisch unmöglich hier nichts zu kaufen! ;-D Man spürt die Passion, die Liebe zum Wein und erfährt bei der Degustation viel über die TÄGLICHE (!!!) Arbeit am Weingeschmack und den Fässern (Probieren, Umfüllen/Lüften, ect..). Die Weine sind sehr lecker, haben teils etliche französische Medaillen gewonnen und es gibt eine weite Palette von sehr trocken (Riesling) bis sehr süß (Gewurtztraminer) sowie zudem ein umfangreiches Angebot an hochprozentigem. Leider kommt das Angebot online nicht zur Geltung, man muss wirklich vor Ort sein.

Wer einen traditionellen, kleinen Familienbetrieb unterstützen will und dann Zuhause auch eine Geschichte zu seinem Wein und der Landschaft erzählen können will, ist hier richtig! Die Preise sind zudem für die Qualität absolut top! Es wird auch online nach Deutschland geliefert - man sollte natürlich aufgrund des Gewichts und Versandkosten (UPS) der Glasflasche eine größere Bestellung platzieren, damit sich das lohnt.
