Very unique repurposed hotel. Everything about the hotel we found pretty charming, from the entrance to the hotel grounds. Locating our rooms were a little cumbersome due to the layout of the site. You will find very long hallways taking you to the various wings and rooms of the hotel, and if you use the lift, it might make for a long and roundabout walk. Our room was nice, but the layout proved to be awkward for us. The ground level housed the kitchen, toilet and shower, table and chairs, while the mezzanine level housed the bed. The stairs going up were angled in such a way that it made us not want to go up and down too many times in a night. The bed was very comfortable though. The staff was very friendly and helpful, providing us with a good list of dining and drinking locations to visit. The location of the hotel is also very central, though it is a decent walk to the main transit services. Would definitely stay again...

Very disappointing experience – refund refused after finding a bedbug

We booked a night’s stay with our family (including two young children) after a long 600 km journey. Everything seemed fine until we were about to go to bed and I found a dead bedbug on the duvet. After comparing with online photos and reporting it immediately to the reception, the seriousness of the situation was confirmed: the room was declared unusable, an investigation would follow, and we were told we would receive a refund.

Out of fear of bringing bedbugs home in our luggage, we drove back home that same evening — another exhausting 600 km with two small children in the car. Not exactly how we planned to end our day.

After a long silence from the hotel, we finally received word that no further bedbugs had been found during their investigation, and therefore we would not receive a refund. This is completely unacceptable. The fact remains: we could not use the room due to an unhygienic and unsafe situation. The hotel going back on their earlier promise is highly unprofessional.

I do not enjoy writing negative reviews, but I feel compelled to do so in this case. We hope the hotel will still take responsibility and refund the amount paid — as was initially promised.

Expérience très décevante – remboursement refusé après la découverte d’une punaise de lit

Nous avions réservé une nuit avec notre famille (dont deux jeunes enfants) après un long trajet de 600 km. Tout semblait en ordre, jusqu’à ce que, juste avant d’aller dormir, je découvre une punaise de lit morte sur la couette. Après avoir comparé avec des photos en ligne et signalé immédiatement à la réception, la gravité de la situation a été confirmée : la chambre a été déclarée inutilisable, une enquête devait être menée, et on nous a assuré que nous serions remboursés.

Par peur de ramener des punaises de lit à la maison dans nos bagages, nous avons décidé de rentrer chez nous le soir-même — encore 600 km épuisants avec deux jeunes enfants à bord. Une fin de journée loin d’être idéale.

Après un long silence, l’hôtel nous a finalement informés qu’aucune autre punaise n’avait été trouvée lors de leur enquête et que, par conséquent, aucun remboursement ne serait effectué. C’est tout simplement inacceptable. Le fait reste que nous n’avons pas pu utiliser la chambre en raison d’une situation insalubre et peu sûre. Le fait que l’hôtel revienne sur sa promesse initiale est extrêmement peu professionnel.

Je n’aime pas laisser des avis négatifs, mais je me sens obligé de le faire dans ce cas. Nous espérons que l’hôtel assumera finalement ses responsabilités et procédera au remboursement — comme cela...

Lets start with the positives:

The Location is great - right in the center of town. Makes it very easy and convenient to explore the town on foot. The receptionist was very nice, welcoming and friendly. The location is generally nice in an old convent building. Nice ambiance generally.

The “Junior Suite” we booked was very very small, outdated and not very clean. BedBugs, etc. Considering the room rate - that was not appropriate.

The breakfast frankly was not great. The orange juice “machines” didnt work. The coffee was barely tolerable and the scambled eggs were inedible. The staff at the breakfast wasnt very attentive - left a finished table uncleaned for more than 20 minutes after the guests had left - despite not being busy at all.

With some renovations, improved cleanliness and some staff training - this can really be a very good Hotel. Right now its...
