I don't know how I missed this museum and old town in my past journeys south, but don't you! The old town is gorgeous with stunning local views. The Grimaldi is a simple, accessible, gorgeous old museum. It's current exhibition on singer, all round personality and once local resident (well still, if you count her grave) Suzy Solidor, was a real journey and an education and a delight. So many portraits of this powerhouse of a woman (Kisling, Cocteau, Derain and so many more), strong-willed and a survivor pretty much on her own terms to the end, this is the kind of exhibition you go in knowing nothing about and come out enlightened and inspired and thoroughly entertained. The view is breathtaking. While waiting for the museums to be opened we had a stroll and were amazed and satisfied. If you do not want to walk up and down you can use a shuttle bus out of charge which runs...
