Great place to visit. €3 per adult gets you entrance and a very interesting guided tour of the place, which takes about 30 minutes. You may need to wait a little while for the next tour to start and whilst there are a few locations you can look around whilst waiting, do be prepared to wait once you've exhausted those. Note that you have to take a tour to go around the vast majority of the fort: you can't just wander round unaccompanied.

Guided tour was delivered in both French and English (after the guide checked who spoke what) and was excellent.

The fort itself has a lot of interesting history, and the views from the top, of Antibes, Nice, and - on a clear day - Italy, are well worth the trek up the hill.

Be sure to take water if it's a hot day: you may be there an hour, and...

This fort was built almost 475 years ago and while it was important for many years for defense purposes and then as a prison, once Nice became part of France it really became obsolete. The fort is built in the shape of a star so that it corner of the fort has an unobstructed view of the surrounding area. It’s a great hike around the outside of the fort where you can see parts of modern Antibes, the marina, the rocky coastline, and a sandy beach area. The fort is open year round although hours and days to vary based on the time of year. Tickets are only 3€. I would suggest allowing yourself about an hour to walk around the inside of the fort. There is a lot of history...

A disappointing, wasted trip. The fort is extremely poorly signed from the main road, and after a long walk in the heat (part of the main walkway was closed with no explanation), we eventually found the entrance. Unfortunately, the attendant told us she was closing for lunch and to come back in an hour (despite the website stating it was open all day). There were no signs anywhere along the route indicating limited hours.

The staff member was unhelpful and rather rude, which really soured the experience. After such a frustrating journey, we didn’t bother returning. Antibes is beautiful and worth visiting, but sadly I can’t recommend the fort based on how...

Fireworks schedule in the French Riviera ⬇️ Planning to visit the French Riviera this week/month? Here is a list of where you can enjoy fireworks shows all over the area for the coming days 🎆 Aug. 17th - Saint Raphael Agay harbour at 10.30pm Aug. 18th - Antibes Juan les Pins Bay at 10 pm Aug. 22th - Port-Fréjus at 10:30pm Aug. 23rd - Golfe de La Napoule at 10 pm Aug. 24th - Cannes La Croisette at 10 pm Aug. 24th - Antibes Route du Bord de Mer, between Siesta and Fort Carré at 10:15 pm Aug. 29th - Port-Fréjus at 10:30pm I happened to be in the Antibes last week and got to witness this impressive show for 20 mins 😍 and then found out they have a weekly series of shows in different locations all around the Cote D’Azur during July & August every year. So I did some research to share with you the upcoming dates in case you’ll be in the area too 💡You can watch the Antibes show on the 18th from the Juan des Pins Beach for free or you can visit one of the many restaurants along this promenade that offer set menus for the show. These range in the €70/90 p/p 📍We watched them from Villa Rosa at Belles Rives where they were hosting a DJ party for a minimum spend of €80 p/p for a table. They had a tapas menu ranging in the €20/25 per dish and cocktails for €12, the food was really good and this swing was really cute too . . . #bdteam #shetravels #sheisnotlost #womantravel #visit #voyaged #beautifuldestinations #damestravel #dametraveler #prettylittletrips #fireworks #fireworksshow #cotedazurfrance #cotedazur #france #visitfrance #menton #visitmenton #summervibes #southoffrance #femmetravel #welivetoexplore #hello_france #francetourisme #magnifiquefrance #stayandwander #travelingpost
