During our stay in Antibes this was our nearest beach and as a keen Snorkeler I was very glad it was . Its soft stand , was often busy in high season but never lacked space . Its known to have a stoney/rocky entrance to the sea but there is an easier access stretch in the middle. Also Sea shoes will prove invaluable . There are NO sun beds as its a public beach but mid summer a portable beach brolly each ( 15 euro's from local sellers or a shop) were widely used and essential . I went snorkelling almost every day and visibility was good or excellent . There were a range of fish , more to the right of the bay looking out . There were reports of jelly fish and I saw a few small ones , and we heard of a few casualties treated by the life guards but nothing too serious given how popular it is with all ages. Our accomadation being close meant we didn;t need to use the notorious toilet which is old school french hole in the ground type but was clean , but Im amazed its still in existence given how chic Antibes is . It just lacked a coffee / sandwich bar which were evident on the other local beaches. The water and beach were both very clean and the area safe and used in the evening...
Read moreDespite its drawbacks, this beach is definitely the right place for families with small kids who need a lot of sand. The water is not very clean, but it’s bearable and it doesn’t get very deep right at the waterfront. There is a shower stand and an ice cream shop within 50 meters, and a n absolutely stunning boardwalk with a yacht club And breathtaking views, the public toilet is very dirty, but you can always find one in downtown. The beach is not huge but even in Sunday morning it’s possible to find a spot. There are lockers available and free public WiFi! The parking is always full but you may find one...
Read moreFor how awesome this beach is I was surprised it was not more crowded. Seems like the locals stop in for the first few hours of the day and take off by 12. Ideal time is probably 11-2. Bring a towel and come out for some sun bathing. Water is nice, but rocky out in the water but is not too bad compared to other riviera beaches. Entrance is down by the marina in case you can’t seem to find it. Also there is a snack bar around the corner selling baguette sandwiches, ice cream, and cool refreshments. Pro tip: around the corner from the snack car is another less crowded beach, check out that...
