Gusto Gelato Pizza - Antibes — Restaurant in Grasse

Tired after a long day trip when we reached antibes as our last location for the day, the ,"Gusto Gelato" shop near Antibes port tempted us highly.

I am a great gelato lover and I have tried several gelato shops - some being nice, some average..But the experience of Gusto Gelato has been marvellous.. I opted for the coconut flavour and mango flavour at Gusto Gelato..I must say it is the only shop I found in my 4 day trip to French Riviera, which had proper "mango gelato", not in the form of "mango sorbet"; The taste of the mango gelato was unbelievably good, and has superceded my expectations. It actually gives that immense licking experience of a ripe Indian mango, in the format of Italian delicacy. The coconut gelato was also very good. Roasting at the beach makes you feel hungry and what's better than having a slice of pizza with a cool drink? On my quest for that desirable meal I was trying to find a place with a perfect balance of price and quality. And this place is an actual winner. You can buy either one BIG slice or a gigantic 50cm pizza, which is actually being made in front of you by Italian guy.The pizzeria is located very conveniently: not very far from the sea and very easy to find, it is open on Sunday midday, which makes it a heaven for hungry tourists and the cost to eat is more than acceptable. And to finish it off, next to the pizza stand you have a wide variety of ice creams, which will be an ideal end...

Would give more stars if possible. Very nice for a takeaway pizza place - and they make it on the spot, not making 5 pizzas of the same kind and stacking them on top of each other waiting to be reheated - like I have seen in one place in Aix en Pce which was reviewed by someone as having "the best pizza in Europe". But I digress! Staff is Italian. The truffle pizza was the best, as always. It's on the cheesy side, I guess an effect of the location on the french riviera where they have to adapt to local requirements. The price is on par with the location, we are downtown...
