I have only visited this place by night with my daughter. To get there, you can take a walk on the wall from where you have beautiful views at the town, beach and sea; the path is dark, which makes it extra atmospheric. My doughter had the flashing baloon, so it was extra fun for her to see it lighting up our way. You can also take a road by the port, which is well lit up, which we took on the way back. Once we got there, we were surprised to see music and lights, as we did not really see or hear it on the way. The DJ was briliant! In no time, both my daughter and I were dancing away. The sculpture was lit up. You could get inside it. Kids were climbing the structure and having lots of fun with it. There were kids with families and groups of young people who came for a party. Loved the place! It felt safe and had very...

This massive sculpture is actually easy to miss when walking around Antibes. You need to walk around the marina and go through some gates to find the stairs to the promenade that encloses above the marina. However, once you are there you will see the massive sculpture representing a man sitting and staring out at the sea. Originally it was only a temporary exhibit but Antibes later bought it from the artist and kept it. The letters that make up the sculpture were meant to represent a language that holds us all together and enable us to construct thought. The sculpture is free to see. There are rarely any lines unless cruise...

The Nomade is one of the most intriguing structures planted in the town of Antibes. Sitting outside the Bastion Saint-Jaume, this gigantic white sculpture is the masterpiece of the French Riviera. Jaume Plensa created this ironwork of a man sitting calmly looking at the sea. Saint-Jaume has history attached to it; when the Romans occupied the land, there was a chapel, a temple, and thereafter a tower, located on site. The Bastion Shipyard was built much later, after many years, but eventually closed in the 1980s. The Nomade sculpture brings lightness and amusement to the place with serious historic stories.
