Spalato — Restaurant in Nice

The food wasn't amazing or even all that great, the service was horrible. First the service: We had a rude server who just overall had an attitude and forgot to get our drink orders, so we asked someone walking by and then never saw the actual waiter again. We eventually asked the manager why we didn't have a server specifically assisting us vs every other table and the manager made excuses that it was busy (it was not busy, there were open tables all over) and that they actually switched the waiter on us (had no clue of that because no one was actually waiting on our table) so he said it was the waiters fault but not because a food runner brought us our food finally and he assumed he didn’t want to interrupt our meal (makes zero sense). The food itself was very bland and tasteless. I got the seafood pasta dish but came with only 4 small muscles and maybe 8 baby clams and 3 small shrimp. The worst part was they over cooked the pasta and it was mushy and partly stuck together. I didn’t finish it because I had to keep adding salt to have a flavor. This only gets 1 star because we got to sit by the water. Don't go here if you want to enjoy any part of your dinner or evening. There are better restaurants by the water. This one is...

Arnaque! Typical tourist trap in Villefranche. Food is worse than mediocre. Either it's just food service-i.e. reheated food, or the cooks are terrible. The so called truffle fries are a ripoff- waiter said it was with fresh grated truffle- a lie; the lukewarn fries (definitely not made fresh) didn't have a trace of truffle on them- they stank of the usual chemical derived truffle essence. Honest review from a foodie.

Gave this a try despite some negative reviews and I should have listened. Food was bland, oily and overall not good.

Got the fried zucchini flowers to start - greasy and could not taste zucchini flowers, only the batter which was a shame.

Shared a veggie pizza and the tomato burrata pasta - both very disappointing. Pasta was so oily and under seasoned. Pizza was also oily and dough was not fully cooked.

Not sure if this place is “made for tourists”, if so, definitely not for the tourists that...
