Pilory Museum of Niort — Attraction in Niort

A fine discovery of this museum when I was exploring the old city of Niort. This stunning 16th century Renaissance building was once the Town Hall. The current exhibit when I visited was an "appreciation of the soul of animals" through the eyes of children. The sculptures were of children in a fantastical masks of animals, both modern and from fairytales. It was packed inside when I arrived as there were a group of school children inside. The interior wall is beautifully painted but couldn't get to the upper floor. A beautiful historical building as a bonus to whatever currently exhibiting. Worth exploring especially young children.
