Very nicely placed cinema in two buildings, one on each bank of the canal. Reasonably priced, hipsters, families, youngsters and seniors, the crowd is varied and cool. MK2 cinemas play blockbusters (3D available) and independent movies, from Transformers to discreet new dogma inde films. The majority of movies are displayed in original version with subtitles. The cafés and eateries on both sides are good, patrons and staff are friendly. You also have a "bac", a little boat that crosses the canal if you don't wanna walk around to the other side via the Stalingrad rotunda and boat elevator where the canal narrows and begins to descend towards République and Bastille. Both sides are accessible for persons with disabilities (ramps, elevators and reserved wheelchair spaces between seats in designated areas of each theater. By the way, part of the averagely priced ticket you pay goes to movie production and supports quality independent movies production. Especially in the summer, you can spend the afternoon and night here, playing "pétanque" (metal ball game / sport), have a drink or a meal before or after a movie and end up in some of the trendy but not posh nor expensive bars and clubs in the vicinity. This is a true Parisian dolce vita experience, way more than the tourist packed Champs-Élysées or Eiffel Tower.
