The Garden of Five Senses is a court garden situated within the walled enclosure with well defined sections that are numbered for easy reference. Each of the sections is dedicated to a certain sense - smell, sight, sound or taste (those plants that you can taste on the spot have a special tag on them). On arrival you receive a map which identifies sections of the garden and helps you to discover different plants depending on the season. Shall you be in the mood, then there is an opportunity to plant and take away with you a flower or a plant of your choice. In the garden you will encounter some chickens and a rooster walking freely in between flower beds - quite fun to observe. You can also here some birds singing and listen to water streaming down a miniature waterfall. The best way to discover the garden is to walk through it slowly taking time to observe, listen and see. At the exit of the gardens there is a lovely gift shop playing on the theme of flowers, gardens and nature. The Garden of Five Senses is a worthwhile visit if you wish to indulge your senses and appreciate...

Superb little gem of a garden that will test your senses. I had the loveliest time walking through this garden and using my five senses to experience the best of what the garden had to offer.

Every flower, bush, vine and tree served a purpose in this wonderful garden. It wasn't built to amaze you with size, but rather show you how to maximize the impact of a garden with intelligent design.

It will take you about an hour to fully experience this garden. Smell, taste, touch, listen and see. You will then learn to fully appreciate what nature has to offer.

The only minor problem is that the mint plant is clearly over-represented due to its strong aroma. Try to avoid damaging the plants and follow the instructions given to you...

This garden by the Yvoir castle was a lovely surprise! Split into the 5 senses, each garden within the garden beckoned and pleased. Signs give the plant names and often a scan graphic to learn more. Species I know and love were often in new colors or sizes. Benches throughout gave spaces to rest and reflect. The gift shop sold seeds, soaps, tinctures, herbal candles and drinks, books, cards and jewelry. The medieval town was full of cafes and boutiques.

Our visit to Yvoire was magical but the garden was the cherry on the top! We love botanical gardens and have visited many but this one is now our favourite. We asked one of the garderners a question. How old the apple trees were. He explained so much to us, were very grateful for the time he took to do this. Love the concept, layout and how it naturally flows to create a wonderful experience.
